3. Some may have been, there are always immature actors in a group of teens that large. Although, the fact is that none of them did anything illegal. So, while you have every right to your opinions of them, others also have that right.

As the story has changed since it broke...

Fact one: A video has been posted in its entirety showing that mr. Phillips approached the teens, not the other way around like was first reported.

Fact two: Mr. Phillips raised his drum twice within inches of the young Mr. Sandmann's face in the effort to provoke, or intimidate the young man.

Fact three: These young people were under verbal attack by the racist Black Hebrew Israelites (BHI) for over an hour before this confrontation initiated by Elder Phillips...

Fact four: Mr. Sandmann felt by standing still and smiling that he was attempting to defuse the confrontation initiated by Mr. Phillips.

Fact five: These young people have been doxed, and death threats issued against their families.

Fact six: These young people did have some that acted inappropriately, they are teens, what do you expect?

Now, my opinion here, this whole affair is emblematic of a liberal media today just looking for any situation to twist into a moral outrage, true or not, but especially if the dreaded MAGA hat is in the pic. Because after all, you can't spell "hate" without "hat"...

American -- I'm not sure why you're coming at me on this. The kid's smile is one of arrogance and general douchebaggery. He's not suddenly an angelic being because he's wearing a MAGA hat or because it's been proven that he was the one approached by the Native American. Yes, the media made this into something that it wasn't (as usual). Yes, I should've realized that there was more to the story instead of just a still photo I saw on Twitter. Yes, it's awful that the media and social media didn't tell the whole story and lead people to believe that the boys were in the wrong. Yes, I believe that they are owed an apology and retractions around the entire media structure and probably have a case against any media conglomeration that chooses to not revise their headlines and articles on the event to reflect the truth. No, I'm not going to change my mind that the kid's grin just as I stated previously.

Have you seen this kid smile in any other way? Then you have no idea if that's just his basic smile. Maybe the shape of his nose and lips, and color of his skin, just makes you assume that he's being arrogant and douchy.

Just watched a news report this morning on cable and they are reporting that Covington Catholic High School
is closed today do to security concerns of violence/protests occurring at the school today. Threats have been made directly
to the school. Threats to burn down the school or harm students. What is wrong with people today?

And then there are the many threats directed at the families of the kids who have been identified. The terrible biased
reporting by the media has caused all of this. MSM should be ashamed of what they have done.

I didn't make any threats to students or the school. Did you? I would venture most people didn't. Some people did, and the only people responsible for their actions is them.

Possibly it's because the use of violence to "resolve issues" (regardless of how trivial) has become "socially normalized" (which is different from "socially acceptable" and means only "so common as not to be thought as completely unusual").

The MEANS by which the violence is resorted to are less important to the health of a society than the FREQUENCY (and degree of triviality involved) with which people actively act out their violent impulses.
