30 Democrats in Puerto Rico with 109 lobbyists for weekend despite shutdown

Massive deficit ballooning tax cuts corporations and the rich along with large increases in Govt. spending increased the GDP and we should thank Trump for spending so much of our money? GDP is forecast to be 2.4% in 2019 as the effects of Trump's stimulus fade. It gets worse from now on. If trump goes thr with his threat to add 25% to every Chinese import we will be in a recession by midyear.

Seriously? 30 congressman out of 435 take a trip 3 hours away from Washington during a time when there is no active negotiations. The Democratic congress did its job and they aren't very far away, if needed. What would their being in Washington add to the equation?

Typically of conservatives to have no sense of the substance of things.

They are just waiting for Trump to agree to reopen the govt. He knew from the start that there would be no negotiations until then. This is not about money or the wall, it's about Trump lashing out. His putrid base is cheering him on and he loves that. Trump needs a little loving at the moment.

Were you awake for English class? Quotation marks are used to set off a direct (word for word) quotation. The only things this president has generated is division and chaos and the only people who think that walls actually 'work' are those whose thinking hasn't progressed past the 14th century.

What difference does it make whether if 30 democrats go to Puerto Rico or to Montana? There are still telephones that can reach both places. Let Trump wander the halls of the White House in his robe, ranting about walls and scratching his balls. Maybe Limbaugh and Coulter can visit, since they share responsibility for this mess with Orange Julius.

Puerto Rico is part of the United States, so I fail to see how there are any bad optics.
Are you or is anyone able to specifically name who these lobbyists are and who and what they represent?
If, for instance, 20 of them represent telecom, it makes perfect sense for them to go to PR because the place is in dire need of better IT infrastructure.
If there are 15 oil industry reps, it might be because there is a need for a better fuel delivery infrastructure.
If there were 40 lobbyists for heavy infrastructure contractors who do large scale projects like the electrical grid, well then, Whitefish better look out, I suppose, and if another thirty of them represent the hospitality industry, can you blame them?
PR is still a resort getaway, at least when it hasn't been knocked back to the Stone Age by a natural disaster.

You might as well be complaining about Dems hanging out with lobbyists in Vegas, or Hartford CT, or Atlantic City, or Wilmington, DE.

You're behaving as if they visited a foreign country. Do you also yell at Puerto Ricans and tell them to "go back to their own country"?

Do you know the different between News and commentary? The NYT and CCN have fired reporters for fake news and NBC had to give one of their reporters time off without pay for fake news. Pirro made a mistake in her COMMENTARY and Fox corrected it so what. It wasn't new it was commentary.
