Test of steel prototype for border wall showed it could be sawed through

On a trip the only motel we could find was an old, small independent one on a state highway. It had one of those. It was a PT Barnum way to get quarters: "There's a sucker born every minute."
Are you telling me you do not read sarcasm well?

So make it out of adamantium. Problem solved.

If it was perfect, it wouldn't be called a prototype.

If any one of you ever tried to create something, you would know that your prototype always looks like **** and fails, which is why you use it to get financiers to back your finished product. The finished product that's sold looks very little like the prototype.

I believe that Wakandan Vibranium is stronger. Donald would simply need to fly to Africa and strike a few poses with Prince T'Challah. Nothing would come of it of course. It would be symbolic. Like the meeting with King, err, Chairman Kim.

So we don't have a finished product of what you want to implement. Okay, well that's okay. Let's open up the government, pay workers who make this country's laws function and when you have a finished prototype, we can talk about it and maybe other options.

You didn't answer my question. I'll repeat: which of these eight prototype wall is the one that NBC says was cut through?

I must have missed the link with your pics..........

My message says the exact opposite. With your logic all walls and physical barriers should be outlawed as they serve not purpose other than promotion of white supremacy.

Only if you accept that the two options are "build this two thousand mile wall regardless of effectiveness" and "all walls are bad under all circumstances."

Do you believe these are the only two possible opinions?

You, joko104, do not support building a 30 foot concrete wall the entire length of the Canadian border but I can't help but notice that you, SIR, live in a house that has SEVERAL WALLS. Hypocrite!!

You don't need the government to open to continue developing a product. There were 8 prototypes here, and the entire point of the test was to destroy it, to see how it could be improved.

Yeah, kind of like how you don't need to have a company open to develop a product. Who reviews the product? An administration that can't legally allocate funds? Who would draft the legislation to fund it?

:)

This was done by the DHS, who were already funded with 1.6 billion from last year for this purpose. As of 4 days ago, only 100 million has been spent through for this purpose, so they can continue development and construction through the shut down, no doubt was Trump's plan from the beginning. So, the DHS(well, the parts of it working on the wall) are still flush with cash.

So why shut the government down then? You're not making much sense. It's like owning someone money, and threatening them with getting the money from a safe you already own.

In a $4.4 trillion budget that spends $7 million per minute, I'm sure democrats have their reasons for opposing what amounts to 10 hours worth of cash.

We should spend five billion tax dollars on raincoats for dogs. It’s chump change, the **** is your problem with it?

Well yes, it wasn't what they agreed with Republicans on. Don't you remember?

Interesting how such petty disagreements can shut down the government, but you know, such as what happens when people don't want to compromise. Democrats didn't even want to spend 2 billion on a wall, nothing. Unfortunate. Seems like the wall will be built with, or without, their approval afterall. Sucks for them.

Lol I don't think either party wants to spend 5 billion on raincoats for dogs, but if that's your position, I respect it. I won't vote for you, but I'm sure the green party will be receptive to your idea.

Again, Republicans voted on a bill, then they reneged on that bill. That's not good faith negotiating. It's gaslighting.

From NBC News

Test of steel prototype for border wall showed it could be sawed through

President Donald Trump has repeatedly advocated for a steel slat design for his border wall, which he described as "absolutely critical to border security" in his Oval Office address to the nation Tuesday. But Department of Homeland Security testing of a steel slat prototype proved it could be cut through with a saw, according to a report by DHS.

A photo exclusively obtained by NBC News shows the results of the test after military and Border Patrol personnel were instructed to attempt to destroy the barriers with common tools.

The Trump administration directed the construction of eight steel and concrete prototype walls that were built in Otay Mesa, California, just across the border from Tijuana, Mexico. Trump inspected the prototypes in March 2018. He has now settled on a steel slat, or steel bollard, design for the proposed border barrier additions. Steel bollard fencing has been used under previous administrations.

However, testing by DHS in late 2017 showed all eight prototypes, including the steel slats, were vulnerable to breaching, according to an internal February 2018 U.S. Customs and Border Protection report.

COMMENT:-

Well, back to the drawing board.
That would be just perfect for Democrats...

Right?

How many topics do we need about this?

And if the wall is augmented with vibration detection, how effective is someone trying to cut through going to be?

Have you ever seen anyone cut down trees with "detcord"? It's really easy and you can do hundreds of yards of them all at the same time. The same principle applies to those Architecturally Beautiful Steel Slats.

PS - The United States of America is NOT the only country in the world that manufactures "detcord".

Oh? And I am to presume you would be open to spending money on a border wall?

Don't talk about good faith negotiating when you, would never negotiate in good faith with Donald Trump. It's hypocrisy.

Considering that around 5 TIMES as many "terrorists" have been detained while attempting to enter the US via the US/Canada border than have been detained while attempting to enter the US via the US/Mexico (after all, [around] 40 IS around five times more than [around] 8) it would appear that Mr. Trump isn't looking in the right direction to find where the REAL problem is.

When you consider that Canada plans on admitting around 1,000,000 more so-called "refugees" (which, everyone knows, really means "terrorists") in the next three years, unless America builds an absolutely impregnable Northern Wall then that 1,000,000 man strong terrorist army (which will be almost as large as the 1,300,000 strong American military will flood into the US and destroy Christian Democracy.

Right?
