Not sure, but if Canada's approval process is adequate, we should look at reforming our own system.

I can check to see if people are being harmed by drug "x". If not, then I will buy the cheaper version.

If they are, then I won't.

Its called freedom to choose.

So, if there are un-necessary steps to the FDA's drug approval process that serve no purpose other than negatively affect prices; you don't think it should be fixed?

Medicine has become a "priest class". Doctors are "gatekeepers". You have to go through them.

This drives prices up.

Canservatives hate regulations. But don't seem to he aware that many of the regulations that exist came into being at the behest of donors. Anti-competitive.

Do yourself a favor and find a breakdown of the "cost to bring a drug to market". You'll find that they include all of the marketing they do in those "costs".

So they use their marketing expenses to justify charging you up the ass for medications.

Add that to the fact that its a "pay us what we want, or die" situation and you see another aspect of why drugs are so expensive here.

Further, many (most) medications that cost thousands a month to buy cost a tiny fraction of that price to produce. So "costs" are recouped quite quickly when the drug that costs you a dollar to make costs $200 each to patients.

I say we let consumers decide for themselves.

If I feel that Canada's drug safety rules are adequate I will buy from them.

Why do you want the government to pick winners and losers?

The approval process is the biggest factor affecting drug prices.

Holding US companies to a higher standard than Canadians companies guarantees that the Canadian companies will win. The average consumer sees the price and doesn't even consider the approval process.

Creating such an environment is directly butt ****ing US companies and worse than that, US workers.

Whose side are these bastards on?

Trump's strategy should be to hammer the democrats on these policies, and then come out in support of importing drugs from Canada.

It would end Cory Booker's presidential chances immediately, at least.
