Trump rejects shutdown deal Republicans negotiated with Republicans

Their record of supporting wasteful military spending, adventurism, and opposing abortion, equal rights for women and blacks suggests otherwise

I wouldn't argue with that for a second. On social issues, the Republicans have always been pieces of **** who usually rely on their religious beliefs when they attempt (and fail) to explain to the rest of us why racial minorities, religious minorities, sexuality/gender minorities, and women are not equal. Democrats have their own mortal sins, so I am not willing to belong to either corrupt party.

Exactly the way I feel

The truth hurts. And there is going to more pain in the coming months for all of you phonies who are complicit with a traitorous President.
Keep the entertainment coming...

It has been fact checked by Politifact and the amount is somewhere between 43 billion and 279 billion. To believe what you believe shows totally naivety and ignorance of the problems because costs don't resonate with you. Your ideology is a plague on this country and people like you can never admit when wrong

Thanks for actually trying to back up your statement. You are heads and shoulders above your peers on the front. "A" for effort. That said, however, I was hoping for something more substantive than a cite out of your stash of political porn. American Thinker???? really?????

Here is what MediaBiasFactCheck says about the American Thinker.

"....A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency and/or is fake news...."

".....Overall, we rate the American Thinker, Questionable based on extreme right wing bias, promotion of conspiracy theories/pseudoscience, use of poor sources and failed fact checks...."

So, you have the temerity to tell me I ignorant when you get your news from conspiracy sites; from political porn. Sorry pal, I don't read political porn. The fact that I don't buy into conspiracies is because I am too well informed to fall for that sit. This gets you yet another "irony badge"

Irony - Learn to Fly Here.jpg

You will never find me post a cite that is not from a source known for high factual integrity.

OK, that said, to the main point. Let's dissect the notion that illegal immigrants cost $100B. You offered a cite from American Thinker, a political porn site, so its not a good cite. The crux of that cite is a link to a blog by far right wing radio talk show host Dan Bongino. He put together his own accounting of this cost. Interesting, but his blog which shows his accounting not a credible source of such information. So thank you, but your $100M is a FAIL.

https://bongino.com/illegal-aliens-cost-taxpayers-100-billion-annually/

So, lets see what is out there.....

First, the Politifact article you cite does exist, except it does not say what you think it says. First, it talks about the cost of immigrants (illegal and legal).... then it discusses the cost as high as $279M for 55 million immigrants (if you look at only the illegal portion, that would be 1/5 that number of about $55B. That is cost, without revenue for the 1st generation of immigrants If you read down the article it says:

"....But members of the second generation "are among the strongest economic and fiscal contributors in the U.S. population," the report said, with tax contributions greater than their parents and the native-born population. In the long term, the immigrant impact is "generally positive" at the federal level" In other words, immigration has a return on investment.

Of course, Trump has carelessly thrown out a number of conflicting numbers, as we all know he makes stuff up in the middle of a speech. As you would expect, Politifact pretty much rates these as false claims.

https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-...-trumps-false-claim-about-cost-illegal-immig/

https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-...-trump-says-illegal-immigration-costs-113-bi/

The NBCNews article you posted you obviously did not read since it pretty reiterates Trump telling us he is off base AND fails to look at the positive aspect of illegal immigration, including the fact they pay $12B in taxes. Most of the cost of illegal immigration is in education, which is the the benefit of the 2nd generation of immigration, which as pointed out above says "....but members of the second generation "are among the strongest economic and fiscal contributors in the U.S. population," the report said, with tax contributions greater than their parents and the native-born population...."

So, lets review.

1) there is no basis to say the net cost of illegal immigration in this country is $100B or greater
2) you got the figure from a website the peddles in conspiracy theories. Shame on you for wasting our time on something that wasn't properly fact checked on your part
3) It appears the net cost of 1st generation illegal immigration is about $40B, but that the 2nd generation are among the most productive members of our society.
4) Next time you choose to call out one of our fellow DP posters on their own ignorance, make sure your eyes are clear of logs, or in your case, eyes have been washed of the lumber yard.

There is plenty of basis showing fiscal and physical costs of illegal immigration. Regardless of the cost it is more than 5 billion dollars so tell me again why you are against doing something to prevent illegal immigration in this country? Throwing money at the problem isn't the answer, border guards want the fence and so do a lot of mayors on the border.

Until you plug the dike bailing out the water makes no sense except for the catch, deport, and re-enter policies of the left are realized and corrected. There is plenty of evidence than walls work and it certainly isn't the amount. As has been pointed out send the legislation to the President without the wall, have him veto the legislation and override the veto. What are you afraid of? Who benefits the most from illegal immigration, Republicans or Democrats?

Although a facebook opinion piece a lot of sense in this article

The MAJORITY of Americans don't realize just how much POWER & MONEY the Democrats make off Illegal Aliens being in our country even without voter fraud!!!

THIS is why they created 'Sanctuary' cities and states.

Simply by including their numbers as part of the population in the US Census, they get MOUNTAINS of money from the federal government and for every 770,000 illegal aliens in their Democrat-controlled area, they get a seat in the US House of Representatives apportioned to their area following the census. YES! READ IT AGAIN!!!

After the US Census(performed once every 10 years), the 435 seats in the US House of Representatives are divided up by state populations and the last one resulted in one seat for roughly every 770,000 people...

Soooooooo, let's say California has about 4 MILLION non-citizens living there right now... That means that FIVE of their seats in the US Congress are due to people who are not Americans being counted in the Census!!!

NOW, imagine if by 2020, when they do the next census, they had 10 MILLION non-citizens living in California.. That would mean California would get 10 SEATS in the US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES due to non-citizens... NOW, do you see why Democrats want Open Borders???

Next time you hear the bleeding-heart liberals and Democratic Party Leadership claiming how they 'care' about these pooooooorrr illegal aliens here, call BULL$HIT!!!

The Democrats found a way to get money and seats in Congress without even having to rig elections!!!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY & POWER!!!

I'm Canadian, nothing bad can happen to me or mine.
Fact remains, the President has shut down the government to force the Congress to fund his project. Not exactly what the Founders had in mind. You only approve because of the partisan divide, which also is a travesty. Picture a Democratic President and Republican Congress and tell me this is acceptable.
You guys are willing to toss the whole concept of government that your Founders designed into the trash for the sake of your partisan loyalty.

You’re gonna wake up one morning and there will be a full blown ****-hole banana republic on your southern border........:2wave:
