You and me both, brother. I've never been registered with any political party, but I have voted for plenty of Republicans at every level of government. They used to stand for fiscal responsibility, family values, limited government, individual rights, strong international leadership, a powerful military, and some other things that I used to and still do value. Now look at them. They don't even have a whisper of consistency, decency, or coherent policy. It worries me because our form of representative democracy requires at least two functional political parties. Every day they trip over themselves to deify this asshole brings them closer to irrelevancy.

It was never anything but a fantasy to convince the weak minded and gullible to vote for Trump. Even Trump knew it was hooey or he wouldn't have made the ludicrous promise that Mexico would pay for it. When his supporters actually believed him he knew he had them hooked.

It takes a very particular and predictable type of person to blame Democrats for McConnell's refusal to allow a Senate vote. Jesus Christ.

So why bother with Congress at all then? They no longer serve a purpose.

I blame it on some more insidious factors as well. Coulter had her book out about liberals encouraging illegal immigration to enlarge their voting base. Conservatives from every corner were lamenting about the browning of the US and forecasting a terrible and hellish country where white people will no longer overwhelmingly outnumber non-white people. They all talked to Trump about it. FOX told him to make it a campaign issue. The wall, I believe, was his own invention because he's a vain and insecure demon. Those weak minded and gullible voters you mentioned ate it out of his ass with a spoon. So much so that they are gleefully celebrating the destruction of millions of Americans' lives over it. I swear we're in the Twilight Zone.

You're misrepresenting the situation because you need to frame it in a way that satisfies your partisan devotion. The counteroffer was not me no want fund wall. The counteroffer was to negotiate immigration policy and border security. As you know, by the way, Trump was already offered substantially more money for his wall. He declined it. He's a ****ing moron and a walking disaster.

You leftists are predictable, want to blame Trump for a deficit and debt without giving him his budget and now Mexico paying for a wall that you won't support. As usual you want the issue not any solutions or certainly are afraid of positive results from both that would boost Trump's popularity as if the economic results aren't doing that
The President of Mexico said in no uncertain terms, "Mexico will never pay for this wall." What part of that do you not understand?

The idea that Mexico would pay for the wall was a cheer line for campaign rallies. Actually getting Mexico to do it was never in the plan after the election -- just like releasing his tax returns.

Moreover, as many others have said, most immigrants come through other ports, like airports, and overstay their visas. More come over the Canadian border than the Mexican border, but I hear no move to build a wall on the northern border. But those aren't Hispanic.

This wall will also take decades to build. What are we going to in the meantime?

He, nor most Republicans don't care about those 800,000.. They are only 'Middle Class'... And according to Trump, Democrats.

To hell with fellow Americans. Politics trumps(lol) all.
