Angry furloughed federal workers protest shutdown at the White House, around the country

See #769

Of those you listed the Coast Guard was the only one working without pay and the President corrected that a week ago.

ok. I was a not that current. Still does not take away from my point that it is pure politics with the workers as pawns.

I never said it was her shut down. I agree, she did not call for it. I agree Trump did.

We, disagree here....

The POTUS and all of our Elected Officials that have the power to collectively work together, should currently be doing that work for the people they serve and they should not stop doing that work until they collectively end the shut down.

That is part of Our Constitutional Check and Balance System.

The Constitution divided the Government into three branches:

Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. ...

The Legislative branch makes laws, but the President in the executive branch can veto those laws with a Presidential Veto.

You do not get to absolve the Legislative branch from their role in that check and balance system because you think the POTUS is not behaving like an adult.

In fact, if you think that is a fact, you would not want to absolve the Legislative Branch from their role as a check and balance.

Well, your gathered mistakenly. I use various news sources. I also do research using various sources. I carefully check whether or not that information is based on opinion and take that into account in my decision process.

I am currently watching the confirmation hearing for AG nominee William Barr. Border Security is being discussed.

Thank you for admitting Trump owns the shutdown. You could have stopped there.

Thank you for admitting Trump owns the shutdown. You could have stopped there.

And, I would like to Thank You for your highly intellectual debate concerning the plight of the Federal Employees.

No problem, The only part of my post that was meant for you to accept was the part were I wrote... I agree, Trump did.

I assumed, and I was correct in my assumption, that you would ignore the rest of my post.

The rest of my post was for the benefit of others posters that might be interested in the information you ignored.

Hope you don't mind me repeating the information you ignored for clarification concerning my full post and what followed after... the only section of my post you focused on...

Which was my statement... "I agree, Trump did"

And the following portion of my post you ignored...

We, disagree here....

No idea why you posted all of this. My post was about this being Trump's shutdown. You agreed.

No idea why you posted all of this. My post was about this being Trump's shutdown. You agreed.

Because I also disagreed with you on other aspects that you ignored, so it was a simple reminder.

Which you continue to ignore in a Debate Forum.

You don't debate, you state and select portions that you agree with. You, don't debate the other portions you don't agree with.

So keep that little treasured nugget, I tossed to you. A nugget you did not earn via intellectual debate.

Get back to me, when you are willing to have an intellectual debate. I like a challenge.

Bye-Bye :2wave: Roseann:)

245i was for spouses and children of legal immigrants and US citizens, that is not amnesty....amnesty is when you are given amnesty for illegal status regardless of what the laws are at the time, it is most often all inclusive...that was what was done in 1986 and has not been done since....spouses and children of US citizens and legal immigrants should be allowed to remain in the US legally anyway.

Unemployment qualification is about whether or not you are getting paid not your activity.

actually, no it isn't....you cannot collect unemployment if you are not actively looking for full time employment...something that many federal employees aren't qualified to do.

You wasted my time and everyone else's time with your off topic civics lesson. Learn how to debate. When someone doesn't ask you about the construct of our government, and someone's post is as simple as mine was (simple to smart people, I mean), then respond on topic.

Trump owns the shutdown. You Trump fans can't selectively decide when he's telling the truth. His words. We all heard them. You obviously didn't.

Yep, in the liberal world when Congress doesn't pass a bill that gets to the President's desk it is the President's fault and not the Democrats in the Senate where 60 votes are required to pass a bill. Just goes to show that whatever you and the left want the issue to be, so be it. You and the radical left never accept blame for anything as most are civics challenged

Somebody should give them a map to the capital building where Congress convenes

:lamo Yes. They can beg them to get rid of Donald J. Trump.

Do you really think the basic federal worker who in two months is going to start facing real problems gives a good god damn whose fault this is? All he/she knows is they aren’t working...the paychecks have stopped....and it has something to do with a wall

You can spin this as much as you want and place the blame on Trump as much as you want....I don’t think they are going to care when they get foreclosure notices, and the car gets repoed, and they are living in homeless shelters

I really don’t think the democrats are going to come out of this smelling as sweet as they think....the longer this goes the worse it gets....yes, Trump said the shutdown was on him, but it takes two to tango and the other side doesn’t care to dance

I'm talking about Trump's words in December. Please save your hysterics for someone else.

I'm actually surprised it took so long, but you can only survive so long on pride without pay

Angry furloughed federal workers protest shutdown at the White House, around the country

Here is why you and the rest of the radicals hate Trump, in a condensed version he is cleaning up the mess you radicals and the establishment created so to divert from that reality it is 24/7 Trump bashing

The Truth about the shutdown you want to ignore, the President of the United States CAN shutdown the govt. by vetoing or no signing a funding bill submitted by Congress. Since there was no bill passing both Houses of Congress getting to the President, it isn't a Presidential shutdown, it is a Congressional shutdown owned by the Democratic Party who refused to consider the Republican House bill passed December 21, 2018. NO bill on the President's desk, NO Presidential shutdown. Sorry but that is basic civics in spite of Trump's claim of ownership of this shutdown. Basic Civics 101

Hello tres borrachos,

You made the choice to respond to my posts...

Therefore, you are the one responsible for the time you wasted responding to my posts.

Please, provide your Forum Speaker-ship Credentials that allows you to speak for everyone.

Please Note the Title of the thread:

"Angry furloughed federal workers protest shutdown at the White House, around the country."

I understand why you prefer simplicity in a debate, your simple statement ends debate.

Thus, allowing you to personally ignore the moral aspect of the Federal Workers plight and blame only Trump (Executive) and morally absolve the Legislative Branch completely.

Thus, my focus on the civic lesson you want to ignore in order to offer once again your simple debate sentence "Trump owns the shutdown"

I have focused on the workers plight and how their plight can end via both sides working together to solve their problem.

Your simplistic point of view ignores the workers plight and simply focuses on Trump and his fans.

Smart people, use their intelligence to solve problems.

Smart people don't need to use their intelligence to simply play the blame game.

imho Roseann:)

Tres borrachos, dos contadores de cartas... y un tipo que insistía en ser Elvis exigió una habitación gratis.

Three drunks, two card counters... and a guy who insisted he was Elvis demanded a free room. Really?
