We will NEVER know unless the Dems offer to negotiate. That's the bottom line.
Nancy or Chuck or both of them with their too-small lectern need to pick up the goddam phone and make Trump a reasonable offer. They are ONLY motivated by the prospect of doing damage to Trump politically, and do not care at all about people suffering.
Why is it that only Obama's election had consequences? Trump ran on this campaign promise and Americans voted for him to deliver. The Dems are thwarting the will of the American people and it's not supposed to work that way.

They are just not use to it not working and they have no idea what to do. They are dug in because they dont know how to negotiate. Now that Trump is starting to move in the opposite direction by taking things off the table, they are gonna end up even bigger losers in this.

Pelosi and Schumer are literally too stupid to save themselves and their party. They are frozen like a deer in headlights.

I'm starting to see rank and file Dems speak out about wanting to negotiate and give Trump funding. Three are those Dems out there with a conscience.

As an aside, my area's food bank held pop ups at about a half dozen locations in the region. One, at a local grocery store I went to today. A volunteer said they arrived at 7am, in the freezing cold, and there were about 300 people waiting.
And Pelosi is probably doing the hula.

What does in Good Faith even mean?

Trump has never justified his need for a wall. What studies has he commissioned? Where are the results? What did the results determine?

Just this week Hannity "interviewed" Trump and threw him softballs about the wall and even then - with Hannity throwing softballs Trump could not provide direct and substantive answer, even with Hannity coaching him along at times.

The Democrats and the Republicans have negotiated to an agreement in the past - at the last minute Trump turned it down.

Trump has lied, denied and misstated. He has stabbed the GOP in the back.

Trump at this moment still does not know exactly what his Wall is supposed to do. He cannot provide credible justification. You know that. You know he hasn't and apparently cannot. Today, right now, there is no agreement as to what Trump's Wall will be or where it will be. Recently Trump said there really isn't going to be a wall. Later he said that there would absolutely be a wall. Later he said it would be a steel wall. After that he said that his wall would most certainly be build out of concrete. Now or a recently as a day ago he began calling it a barrier.

^^^^^^Considering this and more how does anyone know, certainly Trump does not, how can anyone justify the cost? If he can't and the GOP can't you certainly cannot justify the cost of something for which no one can define? Simply put, Trump wants a wall. He has no credible documentation justifying the need. After more than two years he remains unable to present a credible compelling need. The president could not sell the GOP on his wall. A reasonable person would expect that Trump have his ducks in a row, his argument fine tuned and his solution well defined. He has none of that.

There is nothing to negotiate. Trump's Wall hasn't been fleshed out. Over two years and this week Hannity throws him softballs and Trump still cannot give specific answers. How do you negotiate with a person who can't explain his demands? Why negotiate with someone who has based most of his argument on lies and anecdotes at best?

You need a study to tell you that people entering our country is a bad thing?
Go look up some stats yourself. San Diego. Yuma. Go see how illegal activity dropped exponentially.

This is just another b.s. stall tactic.

Or, say, since Obama was so erudite, why don't you ask him on what research he based his funding for border security? How about the Southern Fencing Strategy? Certainly the Dems who supported and voted for it had scads of research handed to them to inform their decision.

It would be a great showing of solidarity if local communities banded together and began helping federal employees who are being hurt in this fight
