Trump inclined to declare national emergency if talks continue to stall

So you believe Trump hires ILLEGALS? PROVE IT?

His organizations certainly do. And his family and buddies certainly do.

That's why Trump wants to waste billions on a vanity wall. It will distract and deflect so nothing meaningful gets done.

Sub, thank you so much for posting as I am sure Donald Trump made that hire personally on the other hand I know how willingly you are to promote any anti-trump media report. Sorry I believe there's another side to the story that you want to ignore

There is no "caravan", there is no "national emergency", "the wall" is a dog whistle for racists.
Either the wall or no security is a false choice. The vast majority of drugs and terrorists come through ports of entry.
I have a problem with #45 not spending the money that was appropriated for border security (but not his wall) and with him shutting down the people who should be protecting us (CBP, Coast Guard, TSA, FDA, etc.)

Speaking of that caravan that was on its way here to rape our women, kill our children, take our money, and was filled with Middle Eastern terrorists....where is that thing? I've been sitting on my front porch with my gun poised since before the midterms.

I have to amend your second quote.

"The buck stops with everyone but me" - 45.

Although I believe that is what he meant, the first one is an actual quote.

I have to amend the first one: "The buck stops here." - Truman, Nixon, Ford, Regan, Obama . . .

I think it will be soon. The President was at the border with Sean and the supportive border agents. Jim Acosta was there as well.....What a bad week for him BTW. This is a President who is doing his job to protect the American people. There has never been a President who gets things done like Trump. He's able to do this even with anti-American forces working against him. I think it's time everyone stands with the President as we try to make this country great again.

I don't need protection, and I certainly don't need a politician to protect me. Besides, unlike the Trump fans, I'm not worried that some unskilled immigrant is going to steal my blueberry picking job from me. Perhaps you should have worked a lot harder in your adult life and then you wouldn't need a reality TV game show host to save your low skilled job for you.

Why is it you have a problem understanding that economic issues can and do constitute an economic emergency?

So if the next democratic presidents calls gun safety or global warming a national security emergency, both of which pose a threat to the safety of America, and which she can do, you'll be okay with that?

How can five billion dollars out of a 4.4 trillion dollar federal government be proven to be wasted money? It certainly has you riled up so I don't see any waist there at all

Because we all know his policy is "hire American workers first"

These are actual quotes that are on film/video. You can make of them what you like.

This obviously is a big issue for you, why? Why continue to ignore the human and economic costs?

National Security is the role of the Federal government but you want this to be about Trump. I will continue to focus on costs in human and economic terms

Uhhh… My great-grandparents were immigrants? But let's work with facts.

Undocumented immigrants are paying billions of dollars each year in taxes. In spite of their undocumented status, these immigrants—and their family members—are adding value to the U.S. economy, not only as taxpayers, but as workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs as well.

Immigrants and the Economy
One of the most well-entrenched myths about immigrants is that they steal jobs from American workers, collect an excess of government benefits and in general represent a drain on the economy.

You do not get national security by shutting down national security agencies or by building "a wall".

It is important to me that the president not be allowed to declare a national emergency when there is not one. OK?
The Democrats have voted to fund the government. #45 and McConnell are keeping it shut down.

The real emergency:

Trump is an excellent representative of today's conservative: "Never accept personal responsibility if you can find someone else to blame."

I suppose that's one of the reasons he's so popular with them.

OMG, Human and fiscal problems aren't a national security issue? 21+ trillion in debt including illegal costs isn't a national crisis? You truly have no understanding of economics or even what a national crisis is. Walls work, you don't like them but tough ****, they work all over the world.

Sounds like an issue right out the Democratic socialist play book, We spent 8 years hearing Obama and liberals blaming Bush, that is over, Trump is doing his job, you don't like it, tough. Deal with it for another two years, nominate an unqualified individual like Hillary, Warren, Sanders and see what the silent majority does

1) The cartoon is an illustration of the government shutdown being an emergency.

2) #45 doesn't care about the debt
The friction came to a head in early 2017 when senior officials offered Trump charts and graphics laying out the numbers and showing a “hockey stick” spike in the national debt in the not-too-distant future. In response, Trump noted that the data suggested the debt would reach a critical mass only after his possible second term in office.
“Yeah, but I won’t be here,” the president bluntly said, according to a source who was in the room when Trump made this comment during discussions on the debt.
The episode illustrates the extent of the president’s ambivalence towards tackling an issue that has previously animated the Republican Party from the days of Ronald Reagan to the presidency of Barack Obama.

3) Not everybody believes walls work. There is more to it than a dog whistle.
The Great Wall of China did little to halt Genghis Khan and his Mongolian army from conquering 13th century China. Constantinople’s ring of fortifications could not stop the Ottomans from taking over what is modern-day Istanbul. Persian soldiers breached the fortified walls of Babylon in 539 B.C.

Nice posts none of which talk about a return on investment for that expenditure, elimination of one illegal reduces costs. elimination of thousands makes a dent in the illegal expenses in human and fiscal costs. With a 21 trillion dollar debt, thousands of illegals coming across each year, drains on state and local taxes a wall makes total and complete sense.

This isn't about money this is about hatred of Trump. How does a wall and spending 5 billion on it going to hurt you, your family, or the country?

Why didn't Trump declare or threaten to declare a national emergency when the last congress wasn't able to get it passed?

Why haven't republicans introduced legislation that actually proposes what Trump wants? Even if the Democrats agreed to fund whatever it is Trump wants, how can they agree to it if there isn't actually a bill to agree upon?

Nobody knows what Trump actually wants.

An actual better question is why there isn't an approved Budget as Trump met his obligations and submitted one. Democrats don't like cuts of any kind and prefer obviously open borders for more voters. Support a budget and this wouldn't be an issue for Continuing resolutions not approved will never shutdown the govt. but CR's with no budget will!!

I have no idea why it wasn't claimed sooner nor does it matter for better late than never. Are you willing to spend 5 billion dollars in an attempt to get a return on that investment by lowering immigration costs? If that wall doesn't do it then you can blame Trump, right now the ball is in the hands of Schumer and the Democrats
