Trump inclined to declare national emergency if talks continue to stall

This country has had an awful lot of past Constitutional crises then if you want add the caveat that a gov. shutdown qualifies.
I know leftist, and Trump hater Rachel Maddow has been pushing this nonsense that a gov. shutdown means we're knee deep into a Constitutional crisis.
I call :bs.
Neither I, nor Maddow, define the term. Your problem here is with someone else. Maybe Black? Maybe Wiki?

Along with that is the legal fight with Texas land owners who are digging in for a long fight to prevent Trump take over of their land. Having covered some David and Goliath fights of "Eminent Domain", I suspect the first real trial will come about three years after Trump is out of office.

He's NEVER going to build anything but **** houses for immigrants, he's opposed by most of the nation, a solid faction of Republicans, every border state and their legal rights, as well as land owners and any principal in the area. And courts don't accept lies, so as soon as the testimony sheds light on where illegals actually come from, well lets just say Stupid doesn't have a case so he will have to bull**** boast his way out of this one just like Korea and Obamacare and everything else he's touched.

There are going to a a lot more very wealthy lawyers in America thanks to MAGA
Yep, agreed.

What I like about you my friend, is you see the big picture, and zone-in on other critical details outside of the thrust of the political debate.

I'm at a loss as to why the Dems are not bringing up the eminent domain issues. Coincidently, a border land owner was just on CNN, heatedly proclaiming the land owners he knows do not want the government seizing their land. He was pretty excited about this.

Actually, required vote count for GOP defections in the senate is 13.

I still think the GOP & Trump are to cognizant of the effects of Trump sicing his base on the GOP, and they (Trump + GOP) are existentially united. They'll take the national emergency exit route, if nothing else works for them. JMHO.
I don't think the GOP is all that unified, or Trump wouldn't be rushing to the Capital to talk to them. Just this morning they were in Graham's office trying to figure out if a DACA-border wall deal with the Democrats could still work.

There is no way out of this where the GOP doesn't pay a huge political price.

1. If they do a DACA-Border deal they'll anger their base that despises any program for DREAMERS. I'm already hearing some radical Republicans trying to talk them out of this.
2. Let Trump declare a national emergency and deal with the public backlash for his autocratic move.
3. Vote for the early December CR and become the villains in right-wing media.

I'll bet they'll think twice before shutting the government down next time.

Payback is a bitch.

Your opinion is factually incorrect. Debt may be characterized as a crisis, if you so choose. But it is not accurate to call it a Constitutional crisis.
Sorry, but a 21 plus a trillion dollar debt that exceeds the 20 trillion dollar economy by most standards would be a crisis. The Constitution established a small central government, not what we've created today and certainly doesn't justify the debt that is being generated. Any ability to reduce cost thus reduce the deficit gets the debt more manageable and that is what you and the radical left don't seem to understand. The human and physical cost of illegal immigration is outrageous and can be stopped. Walls work!

It is totally outrageous for the Democratic radicals to shut down the government over a 5 billion dollar request in a 4.4 trillion dollar federal government. There is no justification whatsoever for the Democrats not giving a wall a shot. All other attempts to stop illegal immigration have failed. Walls work

Regardless if there is a public outrage you're going to have to deal with Trump for another two years. I love watching you leftist blow a gasket over what is logical and Common Sense. Secure our borders as this is a national Defense issue!

I just need to repeat two quotes:

“I will take the mantle. I will shut it down. I'm not going to blame you for it.”

We love watching you, your boy in the WH, and all of the MAGA heads rage like children because you can't have your way.

You're dealing with our people now, and you're NOT getting your wall.

They can shove the wall, and any funding for it up their ass

Actually, it's looking a lot like the wall is going to be built. It looking like there is no hope in negotiations so Trump is going to use the emergency money for the wall.

I don't think he should. If he does, you know the next time the Democrats are in charge they will use this as an excuse to fund one of their disgusting progressive programs.

I think I will actually tune into CNN when it does get funded to watch Don Lemon cry. Maybe they will have that disgusting Anna Navarro on so we can watch her squeal!!

Yeah lets us all know when that is..........I may watch Fox to see that Asshole Hannity jump out of a building because there is NO wall......It would be cool if he was fire while doing it

I think it will be soon. The President was at the border with Sean and the supportive border agents. Jim Acosta was there as well.....What a bad week for him BTW. This is a President who is doing his job to protect the American people. There has never been a President who gets things done like Trump. He's able to do this even with anti-American forces working against him. I think it's time everyone stands with the President as we try to make this country great again.

The only option I see to get a Trump signature is a faux national emergency.

Nothing to do with the point you conceded.

Do you think a wall would have stopped the undocumented maid that makes your beloved leader's bed?

I will point out that Truman tried to use that power to control the U.S> steel production in the Korean conflict, and it was nixed by the Supreme Court.

"The buck stops here." - Truman
"The buck stops with everyone." - #45

Why won't McConnell allow the new Senate to vote on the government funding bill the old Senate passed unanimously? Who is he representing?
He says the president wouldn't sign it but that is more than enough to override a veto.

Trump shut it down.

The reality of no budget led to the confrontation so if you want to blame Trump for the shutdown so be it and SO WHAT? Finally a President how is doing his job regarding national security

Please explain what national and border security mean to you and why economic and physical costs don't resonate with you? This is nothing more than another attack Trump thread on an issue that is truly of no interest to you

There is no "caravan", there is no "national emergency", "the wall" is a dog whistle for racists.
Either the wall or no security is a false choice. The vast majority of drugs and terrorists come through ports of entry.
I have a problem with #45 not spending the money that was appropriated for border security (but not his wall) and with him shutting down the people who should be protecting us (CBP, Coast Guard, TSA, FDA, etc.)
