I know at least 30 or 40 people who voted for Trump, and at the time of the election discussed it. To a person, the reason they voted for Trump was to vote against Hillary.

Half of them don't even use social media, and since the election in conversations on the subject, not one of them did it because they were persuaded to by ads on the bloody internet.

Perhaps you can offer what Trump has done that WAS what Putin wanted him to do? But perhaps not.

We already have sanctions on them, clearly those aren't enough to deter them. But let's say we did go your route and really put on some crippling sanctions on them, what do you believe happens when you push a dictator of a nuclear world power into a corner?

Also, What do you suppose the sanctions should be for the rest of the world to impose on the US?

LOL The new sanctions were not Trump's idea. It was Congress that ordered them and they also complained when Trump dragged his feet applying them. Then there is this...

Actually the evidence shows that lifting sanctions was the prime reason that Putin wanted Trump to win and their spending of millions to help do it. We are the ones being "pushed" and not responding only emboldens a dictator like Putin to continue. When has appeasing dictators worked out well? Putin is still bound like us by the MAD deterrent which has served us well even in the depths of the Cold War. I am puzzled why you think anything has changed?

You are helping my argument by saying he meddled in the election in order to get sanctions lifted......what was that quote from Einstein about repeating the same actions and expecting different results?

As far as what changed, you are advocating for crippling sanctions on Russia. What do you think happens once they reach desperation? If you force them into a corner where they feel they have no other choice but to respond with war then deterrence is no longer an obstacle as they have no other avenue to move forward.

You have yet to answer what sanctions would be appropriate for the world to enact on the US.

1. Increase oil production and exploration throughout the USA
2. Increase defense spending both USA and NATO
3. Withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal
4. Energy deal with the Baltics and Poland
5. Providing arms to the Ukraine
6. Sanctions (Trump has imposed 'em)
7. Refusing to budge from Syria and trying to keep Russia out
8. Threatening to Withdraw from the ABM treaty
