Rudy Giuliani on Michael Cohen's prison term, Flynn memos

If 'watergate' style corruption concerns you. You're focusing on the wrong investigation[muller: Russian interference].

The other possibility however is this is a weaponization of judicial privilege for political purposes. Let say day 1 the chance were 80/20 Muller would find something even if not beyond damning. Today based on leaks and pleas: it's 99/1 its political and the burden to connect Russia essential to having even an ounce of credibility.

It's a good point that a lot of people view this as being narrowly confined to Russian interference but that's not how investigations work. They don't ignore any other criminality they've found and say, nope, we don't have that one thing we're looking for so let's ignore the rest. So far Mueller has handed other cases they've uncovered to relevant jurisdictions and this will likely continue. The investigation will wrap when it's found out every dirty trick it thinks Trump played during the election and the course of the investigation. And if he'd done nothing, they wouldn't have got this far.

And if he'd done nothing, they wouldn't have got this far.
If that turns out to be true. I have no problems. I would just set 'nothing' to a higher standard than normal as most people are not subject to this type/scope of investigation especially if not in the course of investigating an actually predefined crime[same principle as with the Clintons]. You can't just watch people till they make a mistake…

If this is "show me the person, I'll show you the crime" as I suspect. There will be blowback. It question the very legitimacy of the law.

The crime has to be clear, proven beyond reasonable doubt and meet both the letter and spirit of the law. If that's true - lock him up.

We'll see…

And the reason it is important to narrowly define to Russia is because a regular old investigation does not require a special investigation. This is used where there is appearance of 'conflict of interest' or politicalization exactly to avoid investigating a person rather than a crime.

If no Russia or something of a similar magnitude. The whole thing is illegitment.
