We saw an American president whose sworn duty is to protect the people of the US and it's government using its shutdown as a tool.

That video is nuts.

First of all, Pence seriously just sits there in silence. It looks like he is turning into a mummy, and I wonder what he is thinking sitting there. He is like the middle child that everybody ignores, but you know, there is a lot going on inside his head.

Second, Trump's behavior makes Pelosi more likable. She went up in so many points IMO.

Chuck and Nancy look like a mom and dad arguing with a kid... We will talk about that when we get home, but don't act like this is pubic.

Trump looks like a delusional liar trying to control the conversation. How dare Nancy say anything critical about the economy other than it's awesome. He constantly trying to brag and self promote.

In your opinion. I thought he looked like a complete idiot who doesn't understand how Government works, and several headlines show it this way as well. Then he was baited into taking full responsibility of the potential Shutdown as if Chuck completely played him. "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"

But he's not getting the wall, and he knows it. This is all cheap drama, and it doesn't look good for him to be so giddy about shutting down the Government when he can't even get the thing to pass the House.

Personal impressions:

Pence: His role is to shut up and pardon Trump when it's his time.
Pelosi: She really did seem in command in a remarkable way. Anybody who feels that she is eminently qualified to be House Speaker will feel validated by this video.
Schumer: I've never been impressed with his sense for strategy or negotiation, but the way he led Trump into loudly proclaiming responsibility for a shutdown is more than a bit stunning.

It was North Dakota and Indiana. Its hard to see how Schumer regrets that as they are pretty solid red states.

It was Indiana, not Virginia. Indiana and North Dakota are deep red states.

Do you have any idea what goes on in this country - seriously? Schumer's comment was crystal clear to anyone who knows politics.

This is still false. The government is currently repairing and replacing old sections of border fencing, but construction on a new section of border barrier has not yet begun and won't this year.

They made a crucial correction to the president's claim he had the votes in the house. How the hell is that grandstanding?

At no point did they inflate their points. They just told him what they knew.

Increased border protection, which is what we have been doing (both D and R), is the solution.
