Democrats vote to nominate Nancy Pelosi for House speaker

There is a chance that she has a quality swan song in her, but not much of one.

Totally understand why some progressive democrats don't want Pelosi as Speaker but she has EXPERIENCE and that is more important than satisfying the Sanders supporters.

I just hope Pelosi respects trump just like Ryan respected President Obama.

So Nancy , remain seated when trump speaks. When Pence gives trump a standing ovation every time he forms a sentence - you remain seated. Do not applaud him. Do exactly the same as what Ryan did to President Obama.

Just watch trump go ballistic knowing he doesn't have two men behind him clapping and standing every time he utters a word.

Oh and Nancy - if you can organise for someone to scream out 'YOU LIE' when trump speaks - that would be good too.

Now it is time for the caucus to unite around Pelosi and vote for her as Speaker when the final and most important vote is taken.

This is not the right time to go to far to the left. trump and the republicans have gone so far to the right that the majority of Americans want some normalcy in the government right now. Pelosi is in the centre and that is what the Dems need right now.

I just don't want Pelosi to take the high road when trump goes LOW LOW LOW.

And unless giving in to trump is in the best interests of the COUNTRY - don't cave in to his threats.

So NO to the wall. Let him shut down the government.

The trumpeteers will blame the democrats for shutting the government anyway. Remember the republicans shut down government when President Obama was in offce and guess who they blamed for it? Yep the republicans blamed President Obama for the sh**** THEY DID.

Democrats have completely failed to understand their base even when it is responsible for bringing them back to power. Even as Democrats are elected right and left because they DON'T represent the rest of the old guard, the DC leadership has done everything in its power to ignore the voices that aren't Pelosi, Schumer and Ellison.

Blame the rules governing how House Democrats elect their leadership. Who decides what are the rules are? The House Democratic leadership.

And major problem number one for those opposed to Nancy Pelosi leading the democrats: they found no one willing to challenge her for the nomination of democratic candidate for house speaker.

Pelosi is the most successful Speaker in 100 years, which is why Republicans demonize her. We have a madman in the White House and it isn’t time to hand over the roll of containing that madman to someone who never did it.

Democrats demanding Pelosi 's White Privlage be respected and sending a message to minorities informing then they have no place in a leadership role in the House is not a good thing for our country nor should it be applauded.

If the Democrats manage to make Trump lose in 2020, I'll be happy.

They should look to newer leadership. I agree. There are a lot of younger and attractive (not physically necessarily) people they can look to. Both sides.

I'm the last of the Baby Boomers.

I'd rather party with Pelosi than come within 100 yards of Trump.

Trump doesn't wow anyone who has more than 3 functioning brain cells.
