CNN requests emergency briefing as White House looks to revoke Jim Acosta’s credential again

Why are you wasting your time. He will never concede Acosta did anything wrong no matter the evidence.

I Want to TYPE out and show proof so when he gets called out..... FACTS... video and transcript are right there.

DID he or DID he not get 4 questions answered? Contentious or NOT, did he get them out... 3 more than most of the other reports WITH a heated exchange... IT takes 2 idiots to fight...

Lmao hahahahahahaha you realize that the reason the WH had to give Acosta back his pass was because CNN was threatening to thrown them in court? You don't get to make up new rules when you get smacked publicly. If anything, the WH should feel lucky CNN didn't press on with its lawsuit.

You aren't in a position to act pompous, SLC. Acosta is the perfect spot to troll the WH and release all of his questions weekly. Let's see the WH try to take the pass away from every journalist.

Lol, your little world isn't impervious to lawyers, and money.

You are in la la land watch Acosta next time He isn’t going to do his usual antics cause it will get him barred and if that is a win for Trump . Acosta’s behavior has to change are he is gone. The judge ruled on 5th A not 1 A which means the WH gets to set the rules and Acosta has to follow them or he is gone.

Maybe someone should tell Mr Acosta and CNN that once your bag of crap has been kicked, and if you want the kicking to stop, the next appropriate step is to act better.

CNN requests emergency briefing as White House looks to revoke Jim Acosta’s credential again

CNN and its White House correspondent, Jim Acosta, again accused the Trump Administration of violating their constitutional rights in new papers filed with the U.S. District Court on Monday after spending much of the weekend exchanging legal threats in the wake of Friday’s ruling by a federal judge temporarily restoring Acosta’s credential.

costa was informed of a “preliminary decision” for his White House credential to be revoked, once again, after the temporary 14-day order expires. The attorney for CNN and Acosta claim that the White House is attempting to punish the reporter based on “retroactive” application of rules that aren’t written and requested a hearing for the week of Nov. 26.

The filing also claims the Trump administration did not respond to CNN’s offer to work with the White House on establishing protocols for future press conferences.

The White House sent a letter to Acosta on Friday that was submitted as evidence in the court filing. The letter explains that Acosta’s credential was revoked due to inappropriate conduct, noting that the White House didn’t think formal rules for journalists were necessary prior to the CNN reporter’s actions. The letter explains that reporters are expected to ask a single question when called up upon and then yield the floor unless a follow-up is permitted.

COMMENT:-

Maybe someone should tell Mr. Trump that, once you discover that you have kicked a bag of crap the appropriate next step is NOT to kick it again?

You really should watch the exchange.

I did. Trump cut off Acosta numerous times, the guy couldn't finish a sentence. Given that this is what passes for a question period in the right wing, I've decided unilaterally to only listen to your statements as far as I want and answer there, never letting you finish.

You can pull an Acosta and try to sue me. I wouldn't recommend it.

Why are we still debating the exchange when the WH objectively lost this issue for the time being.

It's kinda done for now, with Accosta coming out on top.

Because people on the internet can't see that lawsuits mean business outside of the internet world. In some universe, they think Acosta is cowering - next week, he will be up there asking questions, and the president can't do anything about it.

Sure Acosta got his pass back it was always a temporary suspension but now he has to follow Trumps rules permanently. This is a win for Trump because it’s HIS rules that Acosta has to follow now.

lol. OK. Many people here do like to have a discussion.

It was a choppy back and forth -- not uncommon -- but it was an exchange and Trump answered his question and then some.

You're entitled to that round about way of thinking and opinion.

But I will continue to state Accosta objectively won this issue, both legally and occupationally.

Actually they had planned to permanently ban him after the 2 weeks. That was from the WH Communications Office.

Well there is an interesting View from both sides.

I will say it again, SHOULD Acosta's Press pass be revoked? .... NO absolutely not. It gets hot... it gets contentions but pulling his pass was dumb.

Did CNN have the right to challenge? ABSOLUTELY!! Did they have the right to litigation. Absolutely.

Was the 1st Amendment Violated? Nope......

Was the 5th Amendment Violated? Nope.... No right was violated, So what due process does he actually have. He pissed someone off, and his credentials that are NOT protected under any Constitution was removed? But if a single federal judge ruled that, Thats fine. Whatevers..As a Federal judge has ruled against Trump on almost EVERY single thing he has done, Travel Ban, Family Separation, Asylum PAR for the course.

With that.... Did Acosta win? I guess he got his press pass back.....

SO NOW lets "GUESS" what happens NOW?

Since civility was supposed to be implied... NOW the WH will initiate DECORUM RULES that the Press will have to follow.

I am assuming "Talking out of turn" "being disrupted" will have a rule on it and likely some TYPE of consequence.

Next is Acosta's probability of being BLACKED BALLED.... I highly doubt he will ever get called on.... WITH that, he will do something dumb like Speak out of turn or speak when not called on, "VIOLATE" the new Decorum rules established and then BE legitimately barred from the WH (BUT this is all speculation)

with that again... HE wins how? There will be rules set forth that was never there, because of HIM.

If he acts out of line, he will be barred because he violated those rules (To include people like April Ryan)

And likely never called on again.... So if thats a win? LOL...OK! High five good for you!!!

The word in Washington is several of his colleagues are pissed that he got rules set on them

As I speak now Im getting updates on my phone. WH withdraws , CNN withdraws lawsuit....

Good. The President of the United States will obey the First Amendment, which includes the freedom of the press.

It is funny reading people claiming CNN and Acosta won.

I'm confident all of the media and press are sending Acosta thank you notes for getting the "1-question-only or you're outa here" rule. :lamo

What Acosta won was making nearly the entire midterm election coverage about himself. Great diversion for Trump from losing 40 seats in the House. He should have sent Acosta flowers in appreciation.

Well, they are demonstrating that the president is a pansy willing to send out nameless folks to try to quiet down reporters.

That's a small price to pay. It's why the GOP lost the election.

Joko lives in a small world. One where people can only visit one page at a time. And coverage of the election is limited to what he can see. Be free, kids, expand your horizons.

This is like a prize fight
Round one Trump takes the pass
Round two Acosta gets it back
Round three Trump punishes Acosta on the ropes
Round four Acosta’s glass chin takes a shot to it and he goes down for the count

Posts I didn't read, check. It's crazy that you think a person is asking a question when they are being cut off 4-5 times mid-sentence every single time. Did you watch that video? Acosta couldn't finish a sentence without the president interrupting him.

That's nutty.

The president answered Acosta's question. Acosta has interrupted President before so what if the President interrupted Acosta.

The president answered Acosta's question. .

You can't answer a question if you don't know how the question ends. That is silly. The president tried to cut off Acosta, then ban him, then he failed. He was made into Acosta's bitch.

Best get use to it.

I took it as an affirmation of his hatred for women. (Admittedly I could be wrong on that and it's only that he's afraid of them.)
