Republican senator threatens to vote against judges after GOP blocks vote on Mueller protection bill

Damn RINOS

See?

The whole notion that the country is neatly divided between the left and the right, in which Trump's loyalists joyously declare, is an easily disproved myth. The divide is clearly between far-right conservatives and the rest of the spectrum, which includes other conservatives.

Add in global governments of all stripes and international organizations, and we pretty much have Trump, his believers, and kowtowing-GOP Republicans in their own little world of self-induced division. There's a reason that those GOP members with a later-discovered backbone, are always on the way out. The GOP has been ridding its ranks of center-Republicans for years.

Exiting senator brings monkey wrench to lame duck session? Shocking.

So McConnell is being trump's little bitch and is blocking bill to protect Mueller. Flake is doing his usual tough talk. We'll see if he won't Flake out yet again.

Republican senator threatens to vote against judges after GOP blocks vote on Mueller protection bill

Retiring Republican Sen. Jeff Flake said Wednesday that he will not vote to confirm the Trump administration's judicial nominees on the Senate floor or advance them in the Senate Judiciary Committee if legislation to protect special counsel Robert Mueller does not receive a Senate floor vote.

Flake made the new judicial threat after he and Sen. Chris Coons, a Delaware Democrat, unsuccessfully attempted to force a Senate vote on the special counsel legislation Senate Wednesday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell objected to the request for a vote from Flake.
"Republican Senator"? Flake is barely either.

Like every President ever....

Well, not like every President ever. He has two eyes and a nose like every President ever, but his knack for untruth, deception, and shameless lying is not like every President ever...

The Star is keeping track of every false claim U.S. President Donald Trump has made since his inauguration on Jan. 20, 2017. Why? Historians say there has never been such a constant liar in the Oval Office.

In his first year as President, Trump made 2,140 false claims, according to the Post. In just the last six months, he has nearly doubled that total to 4,229. In June and July, he averaged sixteen false claims a day. On July 5th, the Post found what appears to be Trump’s most untruthful day yet: seventy-six per cent of the ninety-eight factual assertions he made in a campaign-style rally in Great Falls, Montana, were “false, misleading or unsupported by evidence.” Trump’s rallies have become the signature events of his Presidency, and it is there that the President most often plays fast and loose with the facts, in service to his political priorities and to telling his fervent supporters what they want and expect to hear from him. At another rally this week, in Tampa, Trump made thirty-five false and misleading claims, on subjects ranging from trade with China to the size of his tax cut.

Only three members of Nixon’s enemies list are still alive. I called one of them, Morton Halperin, to ask what he thought of the proliferating Trump-Nixon comparisons. Halperin, who oversaw the writing of the Pentagon Papers and then served on Nixon’s National Security Council staff before breaking with him over the invasion of Cambodia, sued when he found out that Nixon had secretly taped him and others in the White House. Over the years, he has been one of Nixon’s proudest and most persistent enemies.

So I was surprised when Halperin insisted, strongly, that Nixon wasn’t nearly as damaging to the institution of the Presidency as Trump has been.

President Trump's number of lies or misleading statements surged past 5,000 last week, according to the running total kept by the Washington Post.
The frequency and intensity of his lies is also increasing. Earlier this month, Trump set a one-day record for false statements: 125 on Sept. 7.

PolitiFact rolls through eleven pages of mundane, senseless lying. I mean, you could ask Trump what shape the Oval Office is and he would declare that "it is a big, beautiful triangle. You've never seen such a beautiful triangle. Believe me."

Is there any indication that Mueller is actually being targeted, or is even in danger of being targeted by anything?

Yes. I guess you don't watch the news.

Flake is so bad, he's the only time I can remember that having a Democrat take his seat is actually better for Republicans than him keeping it.

So McConnell stands his ground, no bill to the floor. New Congress 3 Jan, how much longer are the judicial nominees delayed. I am guessing but I think it all starts over. So could be months longer for approval

They might as well just wait it out, instead of passing an unconstitutional bill.
