White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Wednesday night shared a video of CNN reporter Jim Acosta that appeared to have been altered to make his actions at a news conference look more aggressive toward a White House intern.

The edited video looks authentic: Acosta appeared to swiftly chop down on the arm of an aide as he held onto a microphone while questioning President Trump. But in the original video, Acosta’s arm appears to move only as a response to a tussle for the microphone. His statement, “Pardon me, ma’am,” is not included in the video Sanders shared.

Critics said that video — which sped up the movement of Acosta’s arms in a way that dramatically changed the journalist’s response — was deceptively edited to score political points. That edited video was first shared by Paul Joseph Watson, known for his conspiracy-theory videos on the far-right website Infowars.

The White House is out of control and will stoop to any low. This is bad for America to have fake news coming straight from the president and his cronies.

I heard about this. They are desperate on the right for the sympathy spotlight it seems after Tuesday's bloodletting.

This president is deplorable. Not even George W. Bush went this low.

The electoral map handed the GOP a supermajority if they didn't go all trumptard. But ya'll did and now you are losing elections over it.

No, in the moment, many on your side were just as apoplectic with Bush as you are now with Trump. When the next republican president happens, your side will be just as apoplectic about him/her and recalling the supposed" good old days of Trump.

Same thing happens on the republican side. Many longed for the days of Clinton when Obama was president. It's just the perspective of time.

Two wrongs don't make a right. The President of the United States has no business acting like a crybaby on the public stage. Or did you forget that from your high school civics class?

Which part of "used doctored video to justify action" is something you'd like to defend?

They can act however they want. Obama was an ass, etc. Clinton was assaulting women and using his position/power for interns then covering that up by lying about it under oath.. I don't recall that being approved by my HS civics class either.

Who cares. The actions happened. It was (apparently) sped up a little bit. Possible (and likely) sander's didn't even realize it.. and it doesn't change the fact that Acosta made contact with the girl hard enough to cause her elbow to bend. I doubt it hurt her, but he still did it.

The Trumptard handed the Dems the WH in in 2016 if they didn't go all Hillarytard and the Tumptard handed the Dems the Senate if they didn't go all Kavanaughtard.

That's gotta hurt.

I mean come on, can you imagine how much free Govt sh!t you guys could l have given out by now if you just weren't so GD stupid????

Can you even IMAGINE if a Fox news reporter did that that to a liberal woman?

There'd be ***** hat parades for a week straight!

Are the Trump haters actually aligning with InfoWars?

Jim did bring his forearm down on the girl as a reaction to her making a grab for the mic. He caught himself but it should have never gotten to that point.

When did badgering the POTUS and acting like the Paparazzi become acceptable?

If this was done under the Obama Administration Jim would have been fired.

A suspension is suitable.

this kind of stuff is chilling. i hope that we can end the Trump era at the polls in 2020.

I'm hoping Mueller either ends it this winter or begins the process of ending it. If that doesn't happen, 2020 can't come soon enough.

i don't see it happening. Mueller could probably reveal significant financial crimes or worse, and it will still take a lot of Republican votes in the Senate to convict. i doubt that they'll be able to get even one Republican vote, much less a two thirds majority. after that, fox and state radio would sell it as a coup, and Democrats would probably get wiped out in 2020.

conversely, if he has committed a serious crime and Republicans refuse to do anything about it, that could fuel enough rage for non-Trumpists to make some serious gains. hopefully, this would be enough to prevent a Pence presidency, which is what we get by default if Trump is impeached. there are certain factors that make this strategy less preferable, but i don't think that it's possible to impeach him no matter what he's done anyway, so there's your potential silver lining.

So Acosta is justified in his pressing down of the female intern's elbow to prevent her from doing her job??? Acosta is a prick and deserves to have his credentials lifted. I have watched "edited" video an I'm not sure it makes any difference either way. The bottom line is Acosta had ZERO right to force his way with her and she had every right to have him yield the mic. That was her job to take the mic to the nest person the president called on. Once the president decide to go to the next reporter Acosta had no right to prevent her from doing her job.

Put on a sweater then. Because Acosta is the one in the wrong here. Can you imagine if Obama's daughter was interning and the exact same thing happened? The MSM would melt down.

She made contact with him.

it's a deceptively edited video. thanks for exposing your tacit support for using lies to revoke a journalist's credentials, though.

The video is apparentlt sped up, but what it shows, Acosta hitting the girl causing her arm to bend, is still accurate.

Does that change the FACT that Acosta forcefully pressed downward on her elbow to prevent her from doing her job? Are you OK with that. Are you 100% willing to stand behind the Washington Post's opinion? I'm not sure but I'm sure that other more neutral sources will weigh in soon. And if it was edited do you have proof that Trump or Sarrah Sanders had anything to do with it or maybe it was some video guy staffer that took it upon himself. And last of all if this had been Hillary as POTUS and a FOX reporter and Obama's daughter as an intern what would your reaction be. Be honest.
