At least 12 people were killed and perhaps a dozen others injured late Wednesday at a packed Southern California bar when a gunman dressed in black burst in, tossed smoke grenades and fired off dozens of rounds, witnesses and authorities said.

The suspect was found dead inside the bar, police said. Authorities are working to determine who he is and what his motive may have been.
The gunman used a semi-automatic weapon in the attack, according to the Ventura County Star.

The number of potential victims is unclear, but a witness told ABC Los Angeles station KABC-TV that he saw a security guard get shot, and that the alleged shooter appeared to use "a big handgun" and smoke grenades.

"The gunman was throwing smoke grenades all over the place," a different witness told KABC. "I saw him point to the back of the cash register ... and he just kept firing. I ran out the front door.

Couldn't sleep, so I turned on the TV only to see this story breaking. BBC reporting the club is for country music, which seems odd since the 2016 LV shooter also targeted country music fans.
The shooter in this one died as well. It's too early to know motive, but I can't help thinking its odd to have have 2 mass shootings targeting country music fans in a little over a year.

I wonder if it had nothing to do with Country Music, but more to do with the large crowds. That definitely seemed to be the case in the LV shootings. I don't believe they ever found a link of motive to Country Music.

What's odd is anyone targeting anyone with a gun. Whom a shooter of another human being targets is what it is, and what it is is unlawful and deranged.

Frankly, I don't care what be a shooter's motive. I care that the circumstance of our country allowed them the means to willfully and unlawfully shoot other human beings. Yes, that's going to happen to some extent no matter what we do, but we, as a nation, are doing nothing that's been successful attenuating the incidence of it happening.

Exit Polls of the midterm elections show that over 60% of Americans want stricter gun control.

California has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation.

California already had the strictest gun control laws in the nation. They just passed a bunch more

Gov. Jerry Brown just signed several gun control bills in a state the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence says already had the strongest gun laws in the nation.

They're still part of the United States, and it's easy to transport weapons.

LOL another post and another fail
what 2016 LV shooter are you talking about?
the shooting in 2017 had nothing to do with the targeting country music fans so theres nothing odd about that.
is there any evidence in THIS shooting that suggest that was the target?

And commit felony's? In a free country if a mad man wants to go mad it's hard hard to stop him.
How many gun control laws were broken at this shooting?

Who is to say the man was from CA, or were he acquired the weapon. I will hold off until the facts are out. My thoughts go out to the folks in the club, damn you cant even go for a beer safely, its a sad reflection of our society.

It's illegal to carry a gun in a bar in California. That law didn't stop this atrocity. If anything, it intensified it because all the victims were unarmed and defenseless.

That's why I don't attend venues where I carry a gun.

Damn...Democrat media is cold.
CNN isn't covering it. They're taking about the Russia Investigation
MSNBC ignoring it. They're talking about D-bag gains in the house.
My local news stations aren't even covering the shooting, and I live in California!
No wonder people watch Fox, sometimes it feels like they're the only channel that cares about Trump supporters.

you might have to have nation wide gun control laws or those wiley criminals may just ship them over state borders on the other hand maybe this guy legally owned his weapons under the strictest of standards any way

Eh. Maybe the synagogue shooter was 'just looking for crowds' too.

What should we do? Let's hear your plan.

That actually misses the point that “stricter” gun laws made no difference here. They won’t work on people inclined to do something like this.

Mass shooters are deranged sinners who never turned to God for cleansing from their sins. Wicked, deadly results come from refusing offers from God to be given a new life in exchange for giving up sin.

Absolute garbage. Main story at both outlets.

I still strongly support the evidence that LV was a cell from ISIS.

A mass shooting in America and the substantive point for you: "is it anything to do with Country Music "......

O dear, the ".more guns make us more safe" didn't take long to pop along......
