WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump had a number of confrontational exchanges with White House reporters Wednesday during a news conference to discuss the results of Tuesday's election.

Trump refused to answer a follow-up question from CNN reporter Jim Acosta, who persisted in his attempt to ask the president about the Russia investigation into interference in the 2016 presidential election. Trump spoke loudly over Acosta – with whom he has clashed repeatedly – and demanded he hand over the microphone to White House staff.

I'm listening to the press conference as I type this. I think Acosta earned some ire in that he continued to try asking a follow-up once Trump told him to yield the mike.

I dont like how Trump acts towards the media sometimes.

But Acosta is a large male extremity and he baits and deserve everything he gets..... 15 other reporters in there can ask their question without being a jerk. April Ryan same BS... it went from legitimate Media to a Tabloid side show.....

Sad how far we have fallen...

I would of ask for security if this dude would not shut up.
There are ways in handling yourself while being in the presence of our President...with dignity and respect. It's a Presidential news conference,not the terror dome with big krit. The Russian shtick is over and out. It's a dumb question and I'm glad our President did not put up with this or any other shenanigans. Jimmy is a bad representative and I'm glad our President said it.

Pointing out that the ones claiming that Trump does not maintain standards dont maintain standards themselves is a very worthwhile endeavor. Everyone had the option to confront Trump in a civilized manner, all too many however turned out to be spoiling for a knife fight in the gutters.

I really think Trump should cut the pressers. Substitute that with him and Sean H, cozy room, romantic Republican music playing in the background, cold cans of coke and hot Kentucky Fried by the bucketful.
Does that sound like Sean is in bed with Trump- why yes it does.

Another thread where people who don't work in media wax on for days about how reporters should do their jobs. I've never walked into a McDonalds and told the employees how to do their jobs. If I don't like the food, I simply don't shop there, I don't sit them down for 10 mins and tell them that I of all people, know how to make a better hamburger and it is they who are wrong.

But at DP, random Joe's from nowhere are media experts.

The funny part is when people who actually have journalism backgrounds, such as myself, are told we don't know what we're talking about regarding media issues by the same people you're referring to.

Follow up questions are standard journalism. When the President gives a scripted answer to the first question, or evades answering the question, a follow up is necessary.

We have a president who does not wish to answer legitimate questions. He enjoys the soft arms of Fox and pillow talk with Hannity, and confuses that with actual journalism.
