Voting machine errors already roil Texas and Georgia races

Glitchy paperless voting machines are affecting an untold number of early voting ballots in Texas and Georgia, raising the specter that two of the most closely watched races could be marred by questions about whether the vote count is accurate.

Civil rights groups and voters in both stateshave filed complaints alleging that the ATM-style touchscreen machines inexplicably deleted some people’s votes for Democratic candidates or switched them to Republican votes.

COMMENT:-

I'm going to urge everyone to get out and vote today because your vote counts.

Unfortunately it seems that there is some chance that it might not count in favour of the candidate you voted for.

What a ****ing shocking surprise. /s

Oh a shock.. cheating GOPers as usual. Was expected.

Running elections correctly is one of the most important duties of the Elite, if they don't then we have cause to call for Rebellion. If we do not demand better then we have failed in our duties as citizens.

I didn’t see it, but the missus said she say a report about a building in Texas that was foreclosedon today; turned out it was the local polling place. Wonder if the deed holder was GOP......

Have no fear (as far as Georgia is concerned at any rate) because the candidate who is in charge of running the election will make sure that the votes will go where they are supposed to go.

In most CIVILIZED countries the person who is in charge of running the elections is (if only through the force of inviolate tradition) not ALLOWED to be a candidate in the election that they are in charge of running.

Of course, that doesn't mean that a "Chief Electoral Officer" cannot get everything set up and functioning before resigning 2 minutes prior to the close of nominations and then handing in their nomination papers to their replacement 1 minute prior to the close of nominations and THEN starting their campaigning.

I can see the "interesting" situation where the Governor of Georgia vetoes the state government's move to vacate his election in the election that he was in charge of running where the state government wants to vacate the election on the ground that he ran a dishonest election.

Same scenario in Kansas as well actually. SoS is running his own election there as well.

Thought dems said voting machines couldnt be hacked? Hmmm what did obama tell us about this?

What in the holy hell are you talking about? Lefty's tend to be for paper ballots that can be recounted. It's the right that wants untraceable digital for some reason.

Here we go again.

Texas and Georgia will be having a revote. I doubt if there is anyway around that.

I have heard of the error that affects some of the Texas voting machines,
The error is if someone votes straight ticket, ether democrat or republican, the
next selection on the list gets offset. In the one shown on the news, a straight ticket republican vote
pushed the first normal selection down, and so would cast a vote for Beto,
A straight ticket democrat vote, would push the selection down to where the person would not cast a vote for senator.
It supposedly is an error in only a small percentage of machines, and the solution is to check over your selections
before hitting the final cast ballot button. When I voted, I checked and my selections were not altered.

Elections done as a do-over on the wrong day are failed elections.

Let's hope that the Election Geniuses can manage better than that!

Hacking implies outside forces.. this is an inside job.
From what I have heard, this is a bug in a very small subset of the machines,
and voters who review their ballots before hitting the cast vote button, can fix it if the error occurs.
Locally this has been very widely publicized, and if the vote is not cast as the person wanted, it is simply because
they did not review the summary, before casting the ballot.

Most of the 15 to 20 people who have complained to the state so far said that their straight-ticket ballot left their vote for U.S. Senate blank, according to Sam Taylor, communications director for the Secretary of State. A spokesman for the Texas Civil Rights Project said the group has received about a half dozen complaints, mostly of Democratic straight ticket voters whose ballots erroneously included a vote for Cruz, and one Republican straight ticket voter whose ballot tabulated a vote for O’Rourke.
Now we need to remember that well over 4.8 million Texans have early voted, so
15 to 20 out of 4.8 million, is a tiny percentage.

It looks like Dems are fake copying what actually happened to Republicans in 2016.

Always fun to make up fictional "dems" and attribute dumb comments to these non-existent people.

1/3 of the machines have these errors.. that is if they have their power cords which has at least one place not come with the machine.. a black area as usual.

Of course voters should always check before casting the ballot, but frankly there should not be such errors in 2018. And lets not forget the state had plenty of time to fix these errors as they were reported months ago.. hell the last elections 2 years ago, and yet... Oh but of course the errors seem to benefit the GOP candidate who happens to be the one overseeing the freaking election and responsible for how it is run...

Apparently there are no geniuses in Georgia. 3 hour wait times in Atlanta. Missing power cords for voting machines. Touch screen machines not working right. The word "cluster****" comes to mind. And the guy in charge of the election might be our next governor...

Oh a shock.. cheating GOPers as usual. Was expected.

You have proof of this, i assume?

Show me an electronic voting machine that is 100% functional. You can't. They are pieces of **** and it amazes me we still allow their use.

The only solution is to stick with "Fill in the circle with black marker". We sure as **** aren't going back to punch ballots. We don't need another "hanging chad" incident.

There is, as of now, zero evidence of "cheating". Is there a reason you jump straight to hysteria?
