First of all, the right IS home to a lot of racism and your hyperbole doesn't change that. Secondly, I agree that it's not a racist ad, per se. What it does do, though, is forward the notion that immigrants are just nomadic criminals, a stupid lie that Trump has already told over and over. The reason the ad was pulled is because white people aren't the only ones with money to spend any more so advertisers must remain cognizant of who they insult, lest their sales suffer. Money is the American god, after all, sanctified by conservatives above all others.
Now, back to the "point" of the ad. To that I will say that there are different levels of evil. It's one thing to decide not to help the hungry, homeless guy on the corner. It's another to go around lying about him, telling everyone that he's a pedophile so that NOBODY wants to help him. So, what the Republican party has done (because it WAS a repub ad) is to bear false witness against the most needy people on this continent. They have deliberately poisoned the charity pool from which good people sometimes draw water for the needy, their goal not to prevent cop killings but to absolve themselves from any obligation to care about other humans.
Once again, the republican party has demonstrated a level of shameless douchebaggery that is even a new low for them. The worst part is that nothing they do surprises me any more. Clearly, conservative politics is a ghastly, downward spiral of hate and stupidity with no apparent end. It's getting to where I can't even look conservatives in the eye without wondering how they they think they can normalize so much negativity and ignorance while still expecting others to treat them as if it's all just a different opinion and not a toxic, inhuman ugliness.
Conservatives, you have lost, not the election yet, but any sense of moral legitimacy. You guys are too dumb and angry and hateful to notice that nobody respects your differences because you won't even lift a finger to do the right thing when it's glaringly obvious. I hope it's worth it to you to be defined by hate. It's a choice that YOU made.
