Militia groups say they will help stop caravan at the border

Yep, and if those citizens commit a crime......like, say, shooting at unarmed men, women and children..... law enforcement has the lawful obligation to hunt them down no matter how much you shriek about an “invasion”.

Well, from what I understand the caravan is headed to California, you know, the same state with strict gun laws. Thinking a bunch of them might end up in jail instead of on the border. Reminder to everyobe, private citizens do not have the authority to detain people they suspect if being illegal, that can also land them in trouble, especially in Cal.

It is true that they have a legal right to watch the border. If by doing one's civic duty you mean "call the police," I agree with you. If by civic duty you mean make citizens arrests, then you are irresponsibly encouraging people to engage in high-risk activity.

Sure, as long as they don't break any laws. If they do break laws, then they should be treated just like any other criminals.

In the past the militias do exactly what you advocated, call the authorities. They act as extra eyes on the border.

Oh, the fact that these "militias" are sketchy as hell and certainly aren't above shooting at unarmed civilians is not a "deflection" in the slightest.

There are about a million ways things can go wrong even if the militias weren't far right thugs.

It sounds like you think these caravans are hurting Trump? I think Trump is a despicable human being, but I disagree with that assessment. These caravan images have helped Trump's approval rating go from 38% to 44% in 5 weeks. I actually think Republican operatives are behind the caravans, and I am not alone with that opinion. Consider:

FACTS:
1. The caravan magically appears right before mid-terms.
2. If illegal immigrants really wanted to enter the US, a caravan would be the worst possible option.
3. Pueblo Sin Fronteras is not affiliated with the American equivalent People without Borders.
4. Their website reeks of fakeness.
5. The caravan is dying out. Just when they were getting all this media attention, the plug is pulled. Think about that. For the Republicans, the caravan accomplished it's purpose. If Pueblo Sin Fronteras was sincere in their efforts, per their website, and not a Republican front organization, they just did the most irrational thing they could do.
6. The 15-year organization typically organized their caravans during holy week - the week before Easter. Why one in October?

No I did not but I can see how I may be confusing you. I'm not an advocate of intimidating people or committing crimes. My point in that thread is that I am not gonna be told to condemn his act, by a group of people who are telling me I'm not allowed to condemn the same kind of behavior when it comes from their side.

What are they going to do? Help process the asylum applications? Buy plane tickets back home for those not admitted? Give a place to stay for those who are admitted?

Specifically I don't know what their plan is. In the past they have stood watch and called border patrol agents when they spot illegals.

You know what, I typed this long post to respond about , Sketchy militia.


but I retract, YEAH they could very well be sketchy. WHAT saddens me though is I am a citizen, I am armed and legal at that, I served 10 years with 2 different briefed ROE's 1 general ROE and I was separated from my team and briefed specific to my mission by a separate JAG officer..... MY point being is as a civilian now we are bound by ROE's called LAWS..... NOT everyone is OUT THERE TO SHOOT people.

People being armed EVERYDAY are not out there to shoot people. To defend ones country, from those that are intentionally TRYING TO BREAK OUR LAWS...... What saddens me. These people are defending OUR COUNTRY they are DOING it FOR OUR CAUSE.

If they abide by the laws of the land yet help to defend this country THESE will likely be the SAME PEOPLE IF ever we become involved in an actual armed conflict.

Why we do NOT support them YET..... help them understand their limitations as a citizen. THE BORDER patrol would LIKELY LOVE the additional help... Armed or NOT,...... Sounds like a neighborhood security watch.... its the culmination of the collective to take the responsibility of our defense as a whole.....


there is NO rhetoric YET... there has NOT been any intent or factual basis that these guys are going to shoot.... BUT Is it not fair is it to say these are American Patriots volunteering their support to defend our borders?

WHY WOULD ANYONE Want to encourage a massacre period....... NO one in their right minds except maybe a loony or an extremist would. BUT after that POINT they would be held the the law of the land. TRUMP would get impeached if he ever inferred genocide or illegal killings. "Trumpets" would got to jail as well. PEOPLE ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW.

BUT the Patriotic display to DEFEND our laws, defend our borders and tell them to do it the LEGAL way....


What is important to you all? Caravan of uninvited, unverified, ILLEGAL immigrants or Americans that pay taxes, support and defend the constitution assembly to assist LEO's to defend our borders......

No one asked them nor needs them.

They are called radical groups because they are radical. I doubt many pay taxes and I am sure not a one read or understands the Constitution. They are likely just like you.
