If you want to know, go Google it.

But for starters, all Democratic elections are highly competitive in that we have opposition. All candidates have the freedom of speech and the assembly to bring alternative policies and candidates to the voter. The Democratic and the Republican party both did that along with the other small parties and individuals who were listed on the ballot. and as they say, the rest is history.

Maybe they don't know how to spell in English, and were just trying to make it easier to read for folks who don't know Spanish. I think they were being rather courteous, to be honest. Then again, I'm a glass half full kinda guy... hehe

And then added to the others already here that wont work and are on those social safety net programs.

I dont begrudge people wanting security and work...but we need to fix that problem for American citizens first. We need to figure out how to assimilate entire micro-niches that will not/cannot gain employment instead of just continuing to hand them $$ and pretend current social programs are working.

Bringing in more people to take those opportunities from them (whether they want them or not) is not a practical way to fix the economy.

And I dont want to hear an BS about being racist...I'd trade every single able-bodies welfare queen or slacker for one of those coming to the US to work if it was legal.

You're assuming that your "rebuttal" was up before i wrote my response. And it's more than just the picture of the leader of the KKK, the entire OP is absolutely dripping with racism.

For context, we're talking about 4000 asylum seekers fleeing violence. That's not a huge number, there are 40x that many (~160k) here:

How many troops do we need to send to this emergency? Do you think we could get by with just a division of national guard troops? I think maybe two national guard troops per child and three per adult might be able to save the US from this dire threat. Actually... better make that at least two divisions... just to be safe.

You can agree or disagree on whether or not the US should grant them asylum, assuming they even want to come here. That's a reasonable(ish) discussion. But it's incredibly racist to think that 4000 people seeking asylum require emergency deployment of the national guard. It's a ludicrous response.

THen either the jobs/pay need to change or we need to find a way to motivate Americans to do them.

If they're such ****ty jobs, it's abusive to use them to lure people here to the US. Many of these people are taken advantage of when they get here. And then they cant get protection from our legal system because they're afraid of being sent back.

The entire system is broken. Tough **** if Americans dont want the jobs...there is a completely unbalanced, false economy being supported here.

It really seems like nobody wants to fix the system unless it's pain-free. Just how often does real change occur without sacrifices?
