Trump criticizes rush to condemn Saudi Arabia over Khashoggi

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is criticizing the mounting global condemnation of Saudi Arabia over the case of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Trump says in an interview with The Associated Press: “Here we go again with you know you’re guilty until proven innocent.” He is comparing it to allegations of sexual assault leveled against now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearing.

Trump says Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman both deny any knowledge of what happened to Khashoggi when he entered their country’s consulate in Turkey earlier this month. Khashoggi, a critic of the monarchy, has not been seen since.

Really, DJT, I am sure you have more information on this and choose to defend Saudi's murder of a reporter on Foreign soil.
Yes I know the Consulate is classed as Saudi sovereign territory

Always amuses me to see people trot out the Emoluments Clause incorrectly. Not only that, but it's an old narrative that no one really brings up anymore. If Trump is guilty of it than pretty much every President is, especially Obama, if anyone is guilty of it.

The Emoluments Clause is a side issue. The President is covering for the Saudi regime, if this pathetic argument he has floated covers anything and doesn’t instead shine a light on his routine duplicity.

If Khashoggi decided to **** the royal family he could not have come up with a better plan than this.

Me not being a dummy I am not assuming anything when no evidence is available.

There is compelling evidence available that the American resident entered the embassy. That puts the burden on the Saudis to prove he later safely exited the embassy. Think

Bull****....Nobody does that.....this is an unreasonable demand.

Besides if the Turks dont have all angles this place on constant camera then they are incompetent...they are the ones who should prove that he did or did not walk out...the problem of course is that they are completely untrustworthy.

And that they might be the ones who are holding this guy.

Why are you jumping to the conclusion that there’s even the question of whether the Saudi prince was involved? How do you even know that Khashoggi ever existed? Have you met him?

Demanding some evidence that this guy is dead is not an unreasonable demand.

Demanding some evidence that the Saudi's did it IF he is is also not an unreasonable demand.

I haven't made any conclusions. I have my guesses, but you don't hear me claiming that Trump is defending murders, do you?
