NYPD to pursue charges against 9 members of far-right group Proud Boys for violent brawl.

It should be noted that no where in the article does CBS actually use the word "Antifa". Though they do show a picture of the sign that they often use and described the "protestors" (as CBS called them) as being dressed exactly like Antifa members constantly dress in such situations. Further evidence of fake news.

They referred to them as the "antifascists". Whom apparently are not be confused with the GOP.

Not sure if you can make that determination as you don't see any of Proud Boys in the video until just as the bottle was thrown as you see one of Proud boys rushing towards him just a split second later. You don't really see what was going on before that. I would video is inconclusive as to who started it.
That's fair enough, but it is what I see from the video available. My assumption is AntiFa was approaching the Boys, though as you point-out I don't know that for sure.

Let me guess that you're all too willing to let the Antifa thugs continue assaulting anyone that doesn't agree with them?

Man, woman, young, old.. **** them huh?

Anybody who stomps on these Nazi Assholes is alright by me

Too bad for you their not Nazi assholes.

Then again, calling someone who doesn't agree with you a Nazi, in lieu of a constructive response . Is pretty much par for the course for your side at this point.

I find this to be problematic. The left does not do so well when they adopt an any-means-necessary approach. Our greatest successes have come from encompassing tolerance and non-violent methods. It's the reason that we tend to only remember MLK when it comes to the civil rights movement of the fifties and sixties.

I can understand being angry and feeling justified with 'getting back' at people that you feel are in the wrong, but then we're entering into a very, very dangerous mind-set. 'We are the good-guys by definition, and they are the bad-guys, so anything we do to them is okay' has never been a productive attitude.

I'm not in favor of 'stomping' anyone. I'm in favor of not doing violence, and condemning those who do.

Not to mention, we have seen a problem emanating from a portion of the left, to attack those they deem to be the enemy. Without them actually being the enemy in question.

It's one of the reasons I left the democratic party to begin with and while I know that it can be present in the camp of the right as well. It has predominantly been coming from the left for some time now and has been getting worse, the more it drags on.

I can't really offer any sort of rebuttal on which party/leaning has become or is more violent. We'd have to start getting into personal experience, and there's different narratives pushed by different sides. I can tell you that it annoys me to no end when I see it coming from my side of the fence—more than anything else the right could throw at me.

That fact that this distanced you from [You said the Democratic party, but I haven't been identifying with the party for a pretty long time now due to economic differences, and feel that it's more relevant to identify with an ideology, rather than a party that could change it's convictions based on whatever is politically convenient] says a lot. Whether or not it's true that the left has become more violent, it's pretty clear that this sort of thing isn't doing my side of the fence any favors.

I will say that it's extremely easy for someone to say they're of a certain lean or ideology and then completely betray that notion. So it's far more likely that these people who assault innocents on the street only claim to be liberal, or progressive in name alone.

I think the terminology used for these people was "movement leeches", though I cannot for the life of me remember who said it.
