White woman calls police on black man babysitting children

I hate when the media reports crap like this. There are over 327 million people in the US. There's all kinds of stupid stuff that happens. The media looks for every single race card they can play.

This is a local station, and yes, it's important to them that an asshole acted like a douche bag in their city. It's also important to the victim. It's news there, whether or not you like it. So live with it.

UTOPIA will not get here on its own.....There are minds to mold.

My, aren't we testy. Been having a a bad week?

LOL. I wish them luck with that.

Utopia builders always fail, because they fail to understand what humans are made of.

They cause a whole lot of damage before they learn though generally.

Go to a ghetto and see if you don't get pulled over for being white.

Cops figure that when 'not from around here' suburban white kids are in such areas they are there to buy drugs. That's all that would be about.

You're correct. I bet you think that's ok. Huh?

You're correct. I bet you think that's ok. Huh?

And you think that's not ok? At least that kind of police profiling makes much more sense than stopping, say stopping black people driving expensive cars or frisking black people shopping in upscale stores because black people don't have the means to be able to afford such nice things and therefore must be stealing.

We don't know what she actually said in the report. The Police were obligated to follow up on the complaint.

Mr Lewis, 27 Years old, runs the youth mentoring program and helps take care of his friends kids.

Perhaps Nosey Nelly could actually put her spare time to good use and volunteer some of her time at the program, rather than harassing folks doing nothing wrong.

FWIW, I agree with you. It's more about gender (men being around kids that probably aren't his) then race. The race of the actors is only a factor, because it makes it more likely that these aren't his kids. Had it been a white woman around black kids or a black woman around white kids, I suspect the police wouldn't have been called.

Had it been me, I wouldn't have called the police, though. But that's primarily because I wouldn't care what happened to the kids.

They check out unsupported allegations of kidnapping? Ones made, no less, by someone other than the child's parent or guardian?

They should. No, it is not only parents and guardians who see or detect kidnapping. There is no harm in being stopped by the police to check out such a serious suspicion, given the alternative if the suspicion is accurate. How many tens of thousands of children disappear never to be found again or their bodies found later in a shallow grave or ditch? Failure of anyone to contact the police resulted in those childrens' murder or unthinkable assaults. I would FAR rather people error in defense of children than worry of a 5 minute annoyance of an adult.

We don't know why she thought it was suspicious. Maybe she saw him seemingly shouting at the children. It may have seemed suspicious for him to drive around for an hour - particularly since apparently he drove around for an hour ending up where he started from. We didn't hear the 911 call nor have we heard her side.

The slogan "if you see something suspicious report it" is false. The slogan should be "if you see something suspicious do nothing if the person is black."

How this is national news is puzzling, other than the endless race baiting and claiming great injustice for triviality.

What the hell does that mean? Unfortunately, far too many people have that attitude about children and other people in general. At least she gave a damn. Many people don't.

So every report police recieve needs to be acted upon? If I called the cops because Ludin was being suspicious, you'd be perfectly fine if they stopped you (with the threat of violence implicit in the presece of police), and checked to make sure you weren't suspicious?

If the complaint was of criminal behaviour, sure. But black and white people being in the same car isn't a crime, the cops had no reason to get involved.

The article indicated she spoke to the man, and that he refused (quite understandably, in hindsight) to allow her to question the kids. When she called the police, painting a tale of a suspicious guy who wouldn't let her speak to the kids, of course they are going to come out. Trying to catch suspicious before it becomes a crime is a big part of what a good cop does.

I've had the police called on me for parking in a neighborhood and reading a book to pass some time before an appointment in the area. I guess I looked suspicious enough doing that that some neighborhood busybody had to call the police. Some people are just wired that way.

They checked my ID, we agreed I'd move down the street a bit, and that was it. I was equally embarrassed for and outraged at the busybody, but I was a abnormal presence in their neighborhood, so I see where they are coming from. I hope never to become so nosy and paranoid myself.

Talking to the police isn't a violation of anyone's rights. Having police willing to mediate these sorts of minor disputes probably defuses a great deal of trouble.

If nosy neighbor lady can't call the cops, maybe she calls her nephew, and he runs out with a bat to dent their complaint into the side of my car.

I think BabysitterBella would be a more apt moniker.

Primarily trolling those that say we shouldn't call the police if a black man is incolved. The real reason u wouldn't call is that I wouldn't want to be accused of racism and I am generally reluctant to get involved I NV things like that.

I called the police recently on two men walking near my neighborhood. As I was driving by them, one turned to face my car lifted his shirt up and flashed what looked like a gun. The dispatcher asked what race they were, and I said I wasn't certain... although I knew... I just didn't want to be accused of being racist against the Hispanic men. That's the new world.
