New York state tax authorities have opened an investigation into allegations reported in the New York Times that President Donald Trump and his family created their real-estate empire through “instances of outright fraud,” evading taxes on hundreds of millions of dollars.

“The Tax Department is reviewing the allegations in the New York Times article and is vigorously pursuing all appropriate avenues of investigation,” said James Gazzale, spokesman for Department of Taxation and Finance.

Amazing how the NY tax auditors missed this back when it was submitted.

They obviously didn't think it was an issue then when they paid a huge sum of money in taxes.
Good luck subpoenaing private tax returns.

someone should investigate the NY time on how they supposedly got their hands on private tax returns to even publish this article.
that is what the state of NY should be looking into but their AG is about as corrupt as they get.

I just saw one of the authors on TV. Remember Trump said he got a "small" 1 million dollar loan? Turns out he got a gift of 410 million in today's dollars that Trump never had to pay back.

That's the really interesting part, he's never been anything but a complete failure propped up by crime and daddy's money, he built nothing, only bankrupted himself.

There is no statute of limitations for civil proceedings to recover taxes and penalties.

What was that Eddie Murphy said in “Trading Places?” “The best way to punish rich people is to make them poor people.”

Yeah, the big problem isn’t that the president is a crook but that the Times got a hold of the facts to prove it.

Donald was born with a platinum spoon in his mouth and been subsidized by others his entire adult life - first by Daddykins and then by the Russians. Take away the funds from either of those two sources and he was washed up and out of business long ago.

Of course, this will mean nothing to the mindless Trumpkins who voted for him simply because he shares their own prejudices and hates.

And even after that the Times piece details how Donald tried to do a number on his father Freds will to give him even more. The guy is just a complete and total asshole of the worst sort.
 
I found some of the smaller things in the article interesting.
The providing of false documents to ask for rent hikes on rent stabilzed buildings. ( I wonder if all those people can sue civilly)
The fact that the Donald is still getting a check from Daddy's estate.
The statement by the Times that they allowed Trump to manipulate coverage for years thereby helping to create tgis monster.

Actually in the article it kinda says where they got the documents the basement of one Fred Trumps associates that passed away. They were given them by the estate of the dead associate. Is that illegal?
What would the NY AG have to investigate?
If 90's law is followed I believe there tax rate is 55% or higher I don't think they want to do that.

No the big problem is that the NY times published an article based on possible private tax returns.
it is a federal felony to publish information based on illegally gotten tax returns.

next the NY times has proven itself 100% unreliable when it comes to reporting on trump.
this has been proven.

Next all we again have are unproven allegations until this is looked into but an independent auditor.
next the NY tax authority has to go by the tax laws of the 90's when they were filed. they cannot apply
their current tax codes because they have changed and what was possible allowed then might not be allowed now.

actually it would be. they would have to contact the family to publish them and it makes no sense that the estate would turn over

They should investigate how the NY times got their hands on an published private tax return information without permission.

So show us where he has been convicted of any of that. too my knowledge those are all felony offenses and that would have disqualified him from
running for president.

So I will await your evidence of claims. Please provide the court cases where he was convicted of those things.

Trump is a brilliant patriot who with great intestinal fortitude maybe just maybe saved America from the worst of the disaster we have been headed towards, due to leadership that has completely failed leaving most of Americas major institutions a wreck, or nearing collapse.
