North, South Korea begin removing landmines along fortified border

Will we have peace on the peninsula in our time? I hope so. I can't remember the last time Korea was moving this far forward.

Well, there is peace now and has been for decades. The issue is denuclearizing the North, which makes absolutely no sense for Kim to do. The two imperative ingredients to the Kim Dynasty's family power is the nuclear arsenal and a closed society. Giving either one up will destroy the family dynasty.

What the hell are you talking about?

There never has been any peace between NK & SK.

You may as well declare that we were at war with the Soviet Union. Despite frictions and escalated military threats, we really never did.

- Kim has no wish to incorporate the South into his world, because it would be impossible for him to maintain power in an open society.

- And the South has no desire for unnecessary warfare with the North, which needs to keep its society closed.

Both of their foreign policies have centered around mechanisms that legitimize a clear avoidance to military confrontation and a separation. The DMZ quickly became a territorial declaration that allowed both sides to ignore the other. The North's nuclear arsenal didn't come online until 2006, some 46 years after the U.S. loaded up the South with nukes and constantly threatened their use in military exercises and in exacerbated crises. Therefore, clearly, the North's nukes are about a deterrent. These mechanisms and others have permitted both sides to do exactly what they have long wanted, which is to just keep kicking the can down the road.

So in an attempt to prove you weren't wrong you are trying to change the definition of the word peace
Pathetic.

Maybe if you had actually known as much as you needed to know you wouldn't have made such horrible inaccurate and easily disprove claims. Which might have many you wouldn't have needed to come back with dishonest posts like your last one
I am tired of answering your posts, which exhibit reading comp issues, disregard for fact, and disregard for logic.

MODERN WAR INVOLVES DAILY KILLING.

~350 US and SK deaths in ~20,000 days IS NOT A WAR.

Do you have some dictionary that claims that modern war has to include daily killings. Bet you don't.
A dictionary won't help you here. What you need are history books. Have you ever read a history book? Bet you haven't.

You know you would have looked a lot less ridiculous if you would have just admitted that you made a mistake instead of trying to dishonestly change the definition of words like you are doing here.
There is nothing you can do to keep from looking ridiculous. It is in your genes. You even say so yourself with your choice of a username. You should just admit that and stop posting nitwit replies, and limit your role to that of a spectator.

Exactly right. Skoal!
