Trump 'didn't expect' to get laughed at while speaking at the UN (1 Viewer)

I will be there in 2020 but seems you are married to nothing but disdain for Trump as you ignore the results generated. Your predications aren't worth the time it takes to post them. you are motivated more than ever to vote against Trump for what reason, the results he has generated? Which of those results truly bothers you, GDP growth, Personal spendable income growth, job creation, full time employment? So much emphasis on the man and so little on the results

i like presidents who don't behave like toddlers. i feel a lot better when the president is at least a little fit for office, as he or she will be choosing the wars. enjoy your reality tv show while it lasts.

Interesting, I like presidents that get results and right now we have a president generating the kind of results that you want to ignore. Obviously you need someone that you like regardless of the results he generated. That probably would be Obama as I like him too but his results sucked

Steven Miller wrote that stupid speech and that insane line...and he's used to getting away with crap like that because our media is too polite to laugh in Trump's face and his sycophants don't care how stupid Trump sounds.

inheriting a good economy with a lot of inertia certainly didn't hurt. however, unnecessary trade wars and incompetence might.

Don't have a lot of respect for foreigners who demonize the US President while Ignoring the US economic and foreign policy results. It is about time Europe took care of its own defense as it does seem you are being over run by radicals.

Sure, keep on whining about some Euro accurately stating the idiocy that Trump does on an almost daily basis.

And what does his idiocy have to do with the economy? And foreign policy result LOL LOL LOL.

That would be true had that been the case but it wasn't a good economy that Trump inherited and if you look at the numbers you would know that. Please post the data to support your claim

I will stick to the economic results and data and you stick to your opinions which are wrong but thanks for posting

Meanwhile ruining the environment to roll back regulations so his buddies can make more money.

Meanwhile wages stay stagnant or raise a little bit while COL is rising.

Meanwhile making America alone - do you remember Pearl Harbor??

So I guess it depends on the results you like.
Personally I'm for equality for all - not just old straight rich white guys.
I'm for clean air and water - I appreciate drinking and breathing - but hey what's that matter, right??

not too shabby, especially considering the economy that the previous administration inherited from Bush. do i give Obama sole credit for the good economy that Trump inherited? nope. do i think that letting a moron make major economic decisions unilaterally might **** it all up? yep.

I've never in my entire life been so embarrassed and ashamed of the way the entire world laughed at our president. The speech a president usually gives to the UN is generally written by several appointed cabinet members like the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Commerce. An address to the U.N. by a US president is generally going to address the problems that the world is facing, the areas of conflict and it always encompasses good will and cooperation between the US and other countries particular the US allies in Europe and around the world. Stephen Miller, an acknowledged white nationalist, wrote the entire speech, so there shouldn't be a surprise at the reaction to it.

This speech was like a Trump rally where he revs up the crowd with boasting, the combined global leaders were not impressed in the least with his hyperbole and that's why they ridiculed him by laughing at him, like an entertainer in a nightclub. Now he's claiming that was planned to get a laugh. That's a boldfaced lie. He even stated after the laughter surprised him, "I didn't expect that reaction, but that's okay." It was definitely a 'crawl under the desk and hide' moment.

Not a concern for me as people prefer jobs. Take your concerns to China and India. States still have EPA control although the left doesn't want you to know that

Great, let me know where you find Trump on the ballot in November, would love to meet you there

You claimed obama was on the ballot in 2014, so why isn’t trump on the ballot in 2018?

gladly.

Nice trend but not back to pre recession levels at a cost of 9.3 TRILLION to the debt which seems fine with you

Oh by the way does total employment or quality of employment matter to you? Are part time employment for economic reasons justification to celebrate?

ah, moving the goalposts. cool. yes, i also vote against Republicans because they don't give a tin **** about workers. are you rich?

The UN isn't laughing at Trump's boast. However, I do give credit for linking the video so we can tell for ourselves what happened. At 0:46, Trump has made his boast. There is no laughter, but a barely audible comment is made , to which Trump responds, "so true" three seconds later. Some laughter is then generated from the "so true" comment. Trump says he wasn't expecting that reaction, which generates the bulk of the laughter.

The key is - what happened at 0:47 to 0:48? It's not laughing. Somebody made a comment.

What was the comment? I guess the press just wants us to know that "the UN laughed at Trump".

More fake news.

corporate america makes profits off of low wage service sector jobs. but the federal government has to subsidise that work force with food stamps, housing and medical. but we have full employment!

I disagree, the world is laughing at Trump, not "America" as a whole, just the politicians who suck up to Trump and his big headed nonsense.

And I am from the world I should know (a bit).

No man, we are laughing at you, Americans.

We've been laughing at him all his life as a pretentious, self involved wind bag. But, now we get to see how dishonest he is...AND how ready are the American people to buy his bull****.

You elected him, your elected leaders support him (or fear him) and, business as usual in America, stand around arguing 'wedge issues' and complain about wasted tax dollars.

Here's an example...during the Obama administration Americans griped and griped about his "vacations" (he traveled less than Bush) but here we have a guy golfing four times a month, more than doubling the SS budget, and gee, not a whimper. Now that's worthy of mirth, at least.

In the meantime, its a laugh riot watching the right defend this assholes antics. Now THAT IS hilarious.

They were laughing at a lying windbag reading a speech from a teleprompter. The world is laughing at us, not The Donald. We should all be ashamed of him.

You realize who he was addressing First group:

Central African Republic - $652 per capita per year.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo - $773 per capita per year. ...
Burundi - $814 per capita per year. ...
Liberia - $855 per capita per year. ...
Niger - $1,107 per capita per year. ...
Malawi - $1,134 per capita per year. ...
Mozambique - $1,215 per capita per year. ...
Guinea- $1265 per capita per year. ...

These are countries Trump nicknamed ****holes & has
curbed immigration from some of these very localities &
hinted they may not get as generous a portion of our
foreign aid. Of course they'll attempt to belittle someone
they see as a natural enemy even by laughing.

Germany on the other hand despises Trump for ending the
big advantage they always enjoyed in trading with us, for
forcing Germany to pay their fair share in NATO & more importantly
leading the march of ethno nationalism which is unnerving to the EU
superstate. Now the EU is facing established Eurosceptic nations
thanks to Trump leading the way from the Meditteranean to the Baltic.
They despise Trump & enjoy the few chances they have to laugh at
the man whose raining on their parade.

it's funny when they pretend to care about the quality of jobs. i live among a hive of them, and they do everything that they can to remove my labor rights.

Fox News clipped out the laughter :lamo

I have posted over and over again and still you don't get it, Part time for economic reasons skews the employment data as well as the unemployment data. these are people who wanted full time jobs but couldn't find them in that booming Obama economy. Suggest you learn what context means.

Right, we need that entitlement mentality and Democrats reversing the Obama results, no question about it.
