(Reuters) - A federal appeals court on Thursday revived a Muslim-American man’s lawsuit accusing the U.S. government of improperly keeping him for about six years on its “no-fly list,” where he said he was placed to coerce him into becoming an FBI informant.

Reversing a lower court ruling, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Portland, Oregon said Yonas Fikre’s due process claims did not become moot when he was removed from the list without explanation in May 2016, three years after he sued.

Nasty Muslim-American suppression/coercion tool, apparently trying to get a Muslim-American to turn into a Government informant. IOW, you have no rights if you have this ethnicity.

This is terrible, and yet another reason the idea of using the no fly list as a way to limit one's right to own a firearm is preposterous.

Good decision, glad to see it.

Meanwhile, this is the list that people desire to use to remove peoples 2nd amendment rights. This incident highlights part of the issue with tying constitutional protections to a list such as this.

I would agree with the courts. Just because he was finally removed doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a legitimate grievance regarding the potential damage of the 6 years prior

The no-fly list is unconstitutional anyway. I hope he wins.
