The lawyer for a woman who accuses US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault has said the Senate's "rush" to a hearing is "unnecessary".

Lisa Banks says her client, Christine Blasey Ford, is willing to co-operate but wants a "full non-partisan investigation" ahead of her testimony.

Prof Ford has been given until Friday to decide if she will testify.

Judge Kavanaugh, 53, says the assault allegation, which dates back to his teenage years, is "completely false".

There was film on ABC News last evening of both Hatch & Grassley quickly granting 3-day FBI probes into Anita Hill's accusations regarding Clarence Thomas in 1991. Now there is a sudden rush by these same 2 senators. Why this sudden rush?

She had 35 years to say something. I'd say she's had ample time.

Less than a week before the vote? That's just Dems being Dems.

He's willing to take a polygraph. She isn't. He's willing to testify. She isn't.

She should go to prison for this.

This is just her lawyer waving her arm in the air, saying "Hey! Remember us? Still trying to delay over here!"

"More time"

Thats what this whole thing has been about and why Feinstein held onto the letter til the week before the committee vote. This has all been nothing more than a smear campaign and delaying tactic. Its not new. They tried the same **** with Clarence Thomas.

Of course she does...

Preferably until after the 2018 midterms.

Delay, delay, delay!!!

Republican response: "Why didn't this liar come forward sooner? She should go to prison for this. Also, I'm going to post all her negative student reviews and harass her until she flees her home and goes into hiding."

Also Republican response: "Why don't sexual assault victims come forward sooner?"

These shenanigans won't work. Kavanaugh is getting confirmed, probably tomorrow, unless she changes her mind and decides to show up on Monday. In that case Kavanaugh will be confirmed on Wednesday.

There was never any stopping this. The Dems picked a fight they had no chance of winning. Poor choice.

She already took a polygraph and passed, let's see Kavanaugh do the same.

Here is a question: if Kavanagh’s nomination is delayed until October in order to resolve this matter involving professor ford, would that be considered a “disaster”?

Erod claimed Kavanaugh is willing to take a polygraph. That's the first I've heard about it. I certainly might have missed something, but it's not coming up in any google search.

You're dealing with Trump. Anything associated with this man should be considered a potential disaster.

Where do you find HE is willing to take a polygraph? I think that both he and Judge refused to take one, last I heard...and she already took one. No where does it say she is not willing to testify...she is asking for a witness to be allowed and is also asking for an investigation....liars don't usually ask the FBI to get involved.

Yeah, I am failing to find it as well...not to mention that his friend Judge already refused to testify.

Well of course she needs some time, some Trump supporters are making physical threats. This shouldn't surprise anyone, racists tend to do things like this:

Research Finds That Racism, Sexism, and Status Fears Drove Trump Voters

It wasn't too long ago when this was happening,

and for some, this is undoubtedly the time frame MAGA points to. Just look at the smiles on those faces! Trump is bringing back happy times for some

Trump Defends White-Nationalist Protesters: 'Some Very Fine People'

Yep, we can see the "very fine people" in the picture above. So of course Ford is afraid. You would have to be crazy not to be.

I have no idea where Erod got the idea that he's willing to take a polygraph. It's certainly not appearing in any news outlet I can find. However, the fact that he also claimed that Ford "isn't willing to take a polygraph" leads me to think that he's making it up without the aid of any kind of blog or news source at all.

It seems that some of our posters have been fooled by Limbaugh as well....and his fake news smear campaign.

Sounds like she has until 10:00 tomorrow to decide.

It should be noted that Hill's testimony came FIRST from the FBI. This case is different in that the FBI, through multiple investigations over the years, found no evidence of the conduct Ford describes. Now Democrats want the FBI to investigate again.

See, the Democrats seem to believe that convincing everyone that Trump should be investigated for the sole purpose of finding a crime they could use against him now sets a precedent for such an investigation against anyone else. This is the essence of what a "police state" is all about and it's a tactic which the Constitution was expressly put in place to prevent.

Why the rush? Can’t she be given two weeks or a month to prepare?

Or is confirming Kavanugh before October all that matters?

You mean like the last two months she had with her lawyer(s) and democrats that she was having meetings with?

She should file a report with the state of Maryland.

Her "lawyer" should know that.

Well, when some boys wait 35 years to accuse their catholic priest of abuse, there is public outrage, women, they ask 'Why has it taken so long'.

She already took a polygraph test.. and please show where HE agreed to. Let's see your source.

She took a private polygraph, that she paid for. It's meaningless.
