Unless some sort of unanticipated evidence is produced to support the accusers claims, Kavanaugh will still be confirmed.

I just can't imagine Collins or Murkowski throwing away the chance for the Republicans to have five partisans on the SC, and making themselves the targets of conservative hatred, even if serious evidence is produced. They know that the door for the Democrats to take over the Senate is now open, which means this is their only chance to confirm a conservative justice like this, otherwise IF the Democrats take the Senate they could retaliate for Garland.

You have pegged it right, but every time the topic comes up, I still wonder when and why did justice become partisan instead of just just? It makes the symbol of Lady Justice become a bimbo who is too blind and stupid to see reality.

The Committees are what they are. There are no replacements or subs in Committee hearings depending on the subject matter.

Yeah. Like the sparks directed at the women by those s.o.b.s’ Arlen Specter and Joe Biden, who at the Anita Hill hearings, depravedly used their obvious male-on-female aggression to eviscerate the women testifying before them. Now you have an August body of some of the most powerful people in the world questioning this one woman, alone, against eleven men. There is an inherent bias in that ratio proved in a practically exact similar situation having occurred before. Only worse in terms of going it alone.

BTW, I’d like to hear anyone out there defend Biden’s behavior towards the women testifying at the Anita Hill hearings. Disgusting.

The prosecuting attorneys most likely. They have his emails that contradict his testimony to congress and so they're charging him with perjury. Garland Merrick is the judge in the case.

I'm not aware of anything either, and WP just did some "fact checks" on Kavanaugh perjury and awarded 7 Pinocchios.

Like i said in another thread: She never thought it'd get this far, now she's in panic mode. Her story has holes in it and it keeps changing. If she appears before Congress on Monday, i'll be shocked.

If they won't let the only witness testify then whats the point of her showing up if it's just going to "he said, she said" ?
