[W:228] Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

Let’s see how this plays out. Right now we do not have enough information.

IMO

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

Don't have any legitimate issues, objection or platform?
Smear your opponents any disgusting way you can.
I suspect that this will be the Democrat's road from now to 2020.
Not that this would be anything new. Seems to have been their MO for quite some time now.

Oh the left has a platform alright. They just can't speak honestly about it because it would not be seen as a winning platform. So they engage in really disgusting tactics.

A spokesman for Feinstein released a statement on Friday afternoon following White House criticism over the timing of the allegation's release.

WASHINGTON — Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Friday denied allegations made by a woman who reportedly said that he had held her down at a party when they were in high school in the 1980s and tried to force himself on her.

According to a report Friday in The New Yorker by Ronan Farrow and Jane Mayer, the woman, who has asked not to be identified, described the incident in a letter that was sent to the offices of two California Democrats, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Rep. Anna Eshoo.

Boys will be boys but not if they hope to get on the SCOTUS years later.

Without evidence, it's one person's word against another.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

There was an article (NewYorker, I think) about 7 hours ago, in which the other guy has come out and said he has no recollection of this event.

Just confirmed it was the NeW Yorker.

Classic damning by faint praise. If someone accused my friends and I of something like this it would not be "Gee, I can't remember if we did that or not."

What the hell, had they gang raped a few women before, and he can't remember this particular case?.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

Sexual assault is "a character flaw"???

It's not "sexual assault", it's "Locker room talk".

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

He's getting confirmed, as he should.

Just when you think that it can't get any more disgraceful, well...

What about the letter from 65 other girls who knew him back then that say "no way". And unlike the "accuser" (quotations intentional) EVERY ONE of them put their name to it.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

Has there ever been a nominee with no character flaws???

Attempted rape is a bit more than a "character flaw"...

Sexual allegation against Kavanaugh referred to FBI by top Democrat

The White House accused Democrats of an "11th-hour attempt to delay" Trump's nominee a seat on the high court.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., confirmed Thursday that she had referred information about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to "federal investigative authorities."

“I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities,” said Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination next week.

Too late for Brett?

Only in a partisan silly mind. The vote is next week and he will be confirmed. This is a slanderous accusation of the very worst kind.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

This was a desperate attempt on Feinstein's part to derail the vote on Kavanaugh. If she was genuinely concerned about this letter she received why did she sit on it for 2 months?
Well it isn't going to work. Vote is scheduled on the 20th.
This is nothing but a cut and dried case of character assassination. Kavanaugh's fellow female classmates during that time have sent a petition to the Senate committee on behalf of Kavanaugh along with a long list of female collogues vouching for his character.

I didn't think the left could go any lower than how they conducted themselves through the confirmation hearing. Well I was wrong. Evidently they can go much lower.
You mean like not allowing a vote on a very qualified moderate candidate for two years, that low???

65 women who knew Brett Kavanaugh in high school defend his character
In light of allegations of sexual assault, 65 women say Kavanaugh always “treated women with respect.”

https://www.vox.com/2018/9/14/17860488/brett-kavanaugh-sexual-assault-georgetown-prep-defense

On Friday, Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released a letter written by 65 women who mostly attended all-girls high schools around Georgetown Prep and have known Kavanaugh for more than three decades, in defense of his character. The women write:

We are women who have known Brett Kavanaugh for more than 35 years and knew him while he attended high school between 1979 and 1983. For the entire time we have known Brett Kavanaugh, he has behaved honorably and treated women with respect. We strongly believe it is important to convey this information to the Committee at this time.

They went on to say that Kavanaugh “has stood out for his friendship, character, and integrity. In particular, he has always treated women with decency and respect,” and that many of them have remained friends with the judge over the past 35 years.

He'll be confirmed. The Republicans would confirm him if he raped a baby behind a dumpster last weekend. They have proved that a number of times now.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

This is how ****ing sick leftists have become. Worse, this type of bull**** will have the effect of discrediting the #metoo movement. This was nothing more than a political stunt, but leftists dont give a **** about character or integrity as long as they can try to pull a stunt like this to block Kavanaugh's nomination. It wont work. But it will further disgrace leftists everywhere.

Interesting. Someone else just asked another person why he takes the allegation as granted. You should both ask why you dismiss it as a conspiracy before the ink on the paper even dries.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

Why do you take it for granted that he did what this anonymous person who will not come forward accuses him of?

because some Democrats don't care about the truth anymore. Feinswine should be thrown out of office for her antics

given the pathetic arguments against him combined with 12 years of exemplary service on the bench, he should be confirmed-your hysterics notwithstanding.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

Yeah, because Anita Hill was just so unbelievable..............”Long Dong Silver”............:lamo

she was a lying POS. she was an EEO expert and she claimed she didn't know she was harassed. Long after she "discovered"the harassment, she invited him to dinner after he was no longer her boss. when she was at Yale Law,she and a bunch of others, tried to disrupt and shut down a Yale Political Union debate on affirmative action. Even the key note speaker in favor of AA-CORE's late leader Roy Innis, denounced the attempts to silence the debate.

Sorry, she was a useful pawn lefties tried to use to derail CT

Take a deep breath and a big step backward, Turtle. I'm not discussing Kavanaugh's qualifications, which are adequate. I'm discussing the soulless Republican party's addiction to voting for and supporting people who sexually assault other people, child molesters, wife beaters, birthers, and white supremacists. What you call hysterics is simply a good, old fashioned measure of personal integrity and moral standards.

that's a premeditated assault upon Irony given the Dems have the clintons, the kennedy's, al franken Gerry Studs etc. you don't even have an honest belief Kavanaugh did anything wrong.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

A week or so ago, the NYT published an opinion editorial allegedly written by someone in the WH. While I saw plenty of speculation as to who it was, there was little questioning it's authenticity.

If it worked once, it might work again.

The WH didn't even dispute the op ed because its contents don't surprise anyone anymore.

Re: Kavanaugh denies allegations by woman who says he tried to force himself on her in the 1980s

I care not what pic you use to represent yourself. I just find it distracting when a member changes pictures very often. I often scroll past pics that I feel are not worthy of my time. It’s all good.........

I hate having to retrain my scroll-past tendencies.

I thought you were smarter than to make that mistake. My denunciation of the Republican party is not an endorsement of the Democratic party. They both suck and attract the worst people in the society.

I don't know what to make of the allegations. Personally, I prefer to remain as skeptical as possible, for as long as possible, until multiple lines of evidence support the accusers claims.

But what I found comedic was his robotic responses to questions on Roe, refusing to answer the question like many Republican candidates before him.

what does that have to do with a man who has served honorably for 12 years on the bench?

Has there even been a nominee with no character at all?
