I’m not up on my impeachment procedures. If the House votes to impeach and the Senate doesn’t convict, isn’t that like an acquittal? WJC was impeached, but not convicted and he issued pardons at the end of his term. Help me out.....

It's a moot point. If orcs turn on other orc, they're still orcs.

The point is that even if Trump goes, we're still stuck with the political philosophy (such as it is) that spent the last forty years building up to the circumstances that gave us Trump in the first place. In other words, with our without Trump, we're stuck with Trumpism.

There's no reason they couldn't open up an impeachment hearing on one thing at a time. One for Emoluments violations, one for Obstruction of Justice, etc. Technically speaking, they could keep him in a perpetual state of impeachment til his last day in office.

Imagine Manafort publicly confessing that the campaign's cozy relationship with Russia was 1) payment for the DNC emails and 2) hush money to Putin on the pee tapes and/or similar fun and games. Even our own faithful Trumpkins would feel the wind go out of their sails.

I would say Donnie Jnr is nervous as hell. If he lied about the Russian meeting in Trump Tower. Then we have a slew of others which had contacts from Russia to the M East
Clear the Mueller investigation will run well into 2019
I would look at the week or so after the mid terms for more indictments
That said there is no DOJ rule preventing Mueller from laying charges before the mid terms.

Well I don't see even a Republican senate allowing him to continue to serve if the dems take solid control of the house and serious evidence stacks against the president. They'll go into damaga control and turn on TRump quick as ****. Yeah we have serious issues, but at least likely will soon be rid of TRump's crime family.

But an hour to start formulating insane defenses in this thread was my guess. If it takes more than an hour for one of the usual suspects to dumb up the thread, then I underestimate the impact. This is getting to them, I see it, surprised you don't.

I'm fully on board with getting rid of Trump. But let's remember that the entire Conservative movement has given him their full backing every step of the way since election. That would not happen if they weren't ideologically joined at the hip.

Yeah they all have to go get their talking points fed to them or have the time to forumlate a new conspiracy theory or whataboutism to battle back. It's a tumbling house of cards and it's tumbling quicker and quicker.....

When he retires to his bedroom, or Reince Priebus calls it "the devil's workshop" is when he usually starts stewing about things and by the early morning hours or Sunday evening, otherwise known as the "witching hours", is usually when he tends to let loose.

There are some weird Trumpian twists, like economic protectionism. I wonder if the Republicans would continue to go after the blue collar vote that way. It's the sort of thing that plays well in certain battleground states.

But yeah overall, American exceptionalism, xenophobia, nationalistic fervor, and dog whistle nods to racism have been their bread and butter for a while.

And it's not like Mike Pence would exactly be a breath of fresh air either. About the best you can say about Mike is except for saying that God speaks to him he's at least a little more stable.

Expect to see Clinton & Hilary any time soon. When all else fails, these guys fall back on ancient history. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to reopen the Pearl Harbor probe into dereliction of duty by Adm Kimmel & Gen Short. And Alger Hiss - a self-admitted commie dupe of the KGB from the 1950s.

Anyone around here heard that international observers have declared North Korea and the US are edging closer and closer to hostilities, the worst it has been since 1952.
