Donald Trump cancels Ireland trip after massive protests planned throughout Dublin

Now?...Not good....Most Europeans are laughing at America...They think trump is a joke, a fraud and a fool....Most are confounded by America's backward out dated electoral college, where the most votes do NOT win...Absurd

yeah, i figured. as for the EC, i used to support it to give flyover states more of a voice and to have a last ditch firewall against electing a dangerously unfit candidate who has somehow manipulated his way to a win. the EC has proved to be unwilling to act as a safeguard against a candidate who fits that description, so i'm for getting rid of it. if the flyover states want more of a voice, i guess that they'll have to do it the other way : more residents / voters.

Trump didn't lose anything and he IS the President

Good point. He's a laughing stock around the world, and he's quickly turning the USA into a laughing stock around the world, but he is POTUS.

Then your circle of "friends" must be either very small or limited to only like-minded Germans.
You should stop reading the ultra liberal Der Spiegel.
In Germany things are a bit different than in the USA. For example, the German Chancellor certainly doesn't publicly support the KKK and Neo Nazis like the American president.

Trump Defends White-Nationalist Protesters: 'Some Very Fine People'

and decent people just don't want to hang around with Nazis and White Supremacists, even if that does mean only having "like-minded" friends who also dislike Nazis.

Also I think they mostly like their liberalism. Better healthcare, better education, more vacation time, work less hours, less crime, less violence, less murders, less hatred. Why would they possibly want to give all that up and live like you? It would take a "special" person to make that choice.

" Rational and intelligent " people dont respond to a election loss by throwing a massive collective temper tantrum. They accept the results and move on with their lives.

Obviously, pointing out that Trump lies daily, and is unfit for office is throwing a temper tantrum by a Trump apologist. Need to wake up, smell the coffee....or is that covefe?

Both?

What we do know is Trump is campaigning for plenty of seats in contested races across the US, going so far as to say if he is impeached it is the voters fault for not keeping Congress Republican controlled, spending each day on Twitter going after Mueller and/or whoever flipped and/or anyone he does not like, dealing with an insider leaking info to the press... maybe, this wonderfully timed book making him as terrible as can be, and generally erratic behavior.

Seems to me he has enough pots on the stove right here at home to worry about whatever the hell is going on in Iceland.

A nice weekend of golf is the ticket! I bet he does...(how do you state odds greater than 1:1?)

I have no idea ... but they do. (grin)

"Each year, more than 100,000 Germans leave the country to live elsewhere in the world, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

In 2015, which was a record year for both immigration and emigration in Germany, just under 140,000 German citizens moved abroad.

The country that received the highest number of German immigrants was Switzerland with more than 18,266 people, followed by the United States with 13,438 people. Austria came in third at 10,239 German immigrants. ..."

Right, our last President actually spied on our Allies,

Spied on US Journalist...

And spied on Congress...

So Trumps a laughing stock ? If the last President didn't damage our credibility by spying on our allies then no one cares about your or anyone elses TDS.

Yeah, there are special people everywhere.

It's embarrassing for Ireland to allow protesting.

So Trumps a laughing stock ?

Yeah, likely the biggest the world has ever seen. And now America is seen as a laughing stock for electing such a clown.

Jerusalem:
America the laughingstock

England:
Trump Has Made America Into A Laughingstock

Canada:
The year the world laughed at U.S.

Europe:
European diplomats: Trump is a 'laughing stock'

Germany:
'People here think Trump is a laughingstock'

USA:
Trump is making America the laughingstock of the world

Yes, this does seem to be a common affliction among the Trump base. Personally, I believe it can be cured through education. There's nothing Trump loves more than the poorly educated:

Donald Trump declares 'I love the poorly educated'

What About What About Obama...Typical dodge from the pro trump crowd...

They try. But it doesn't change the fact that Trump is still a huge laughing stock around the world.

Almost No country on earth would welcome trump, and much of America hates his fat ass

Yeah, it would suck balls if he came to Canada.

Interestingly, when he first got elected, a group of retired gentlemen I hang around with thought Trump would be very effective, and thought Americans had made a good choice.

Now there is only one who still likes Trump, the rest just laugh and call Trump an idiot if anyone mentions his name.

trump at best is considered a pompous clown...Many consider him a unhinged lunatic...Even Putin has a higher approval rate in Europe.....That is embarrassing

No, I don't know a single German that doesn't think Trump is a complete idiot and an obvious racist pretending he's not.
That's funny because I was having dinner at an Argentine restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and I met a family from Germany here visiting. It was me, the German family (wife, husband, daughter, son) and another American couple.

We had a blast polishing off bottles of wine and talking. Then the 9th error couple who were suffering from TDS felt the need to bring up politics. They started profusely apologizing for our president. I found it embarassing.

The American couple eventually left and we continued exchanged little cultural things we do in our country to express good will toward others. We laughed and sang. The husband was actually playing a guitar that was there.

At some point I told him that not everyone felt the way that couple did. Some of us were happy that Trump was elected. I then asked him what was the general sentiment toward trump in Germany.

He claimed that trump was popular with a fairly large segment of Germans and his wife agreed with him when he said that. The conversation took place about 6 months ago so that could if changed but at the time they can across as being sincere.

I'd be interested to know why it is only American Republicans that seem so out of step with the rest of the U.S. and the world. My only guess is our prolific right wing media. Is the media not like this in the country you're in?
That's not true. I meet many people from around the world and we share many of the same values. One thing I will say is that the majority of them do like their socialized medicine system. That is one topic that there seems to be a pretty wide gap.

Nobody gives a **** what people in other countries think.

If those countries don't trust us to lead the world, then they should get off their asses, as well as their pocketbooks and do it themselves.

Other countries are always bitching about The United States, but never hesitate to demand that we foot the bill.

Deep down, most of his supporters know Trump is a POS. Its like they are emotionally invested in the man, and to admit it would cause them to loose face. I critisized Obama plenty, and I was scathing of Hilldogs lies, no one is above criticism. Why are his supporters so thick headed, perhaps to admit the man is a POS is some sort of defeat to the otherside, but it smells cult like in a Jim Jones way.

I have a feeling the values you share and what people do not like about American Republicans are completely different things. I would vote Republican sometimes if they followed their supposed values.

Complaining about socialized medicine is like complaining about going to work, your boss, your vehicle, etc. People don't just complain about American healthcare, they die from it, it bankrupts them and destroys their life.

Your post is a good example of why i avoid talking about healthcare with the left. Making hyperbolic and disingenuous claims like people die from privatized systems is ridiculous shows a lack pf desire to jave an honest conversation.

Up here in Canada only one person I know disputes it, and I know some very far right conservatives.

Agreed...it's a special kind of alt-right-American-wannabe asshole that vocally supports Trump up here....we had one at my work voice his opinion, and the place went silent and awkward...and my office is made up mostly of conservatives...lol...
