I know that this won't resonate with the radical left and they will never respond which is normal when confronted with logic and common sense, but the reality is today's Democratic Party has been taken over by radicals who have indoctrinated far too many with their leftwing ideology and promotion of class warfare and hate rhetoric

It's the sign of our desperate times. People should have long figured out that they only matter on election day. What matters afterwards is the politician's own half-hearted opinions and the wishes of his/her financial handlers in interest groups.

This could be argued as citizens trying to play on the same field as corporations that write checks to influence the elected on any given matter. In my opinion, these activists are merely jumping on the slippery slopes that others created. But at least this is from voting citizens and not board rooms full of people who's check book is greater than their individual votes.

God, you are so hopelessly lost in your delusions of reality. It is a well know historical fact that conservative interest groups and right-wing media had spent years and years hallowing out the GOP, leaving radicals and extremists behind. This is why in 2016, a birther, who was cheered on by white supremacists and neo-Nazis, with the majority of conservatives merely shrugging, killed in the Republican Primaries and then went on to be the winner of the two worst unfavorable scored candidates in presidential polling history (Clinton being the second worst). Yay victory!

The site to accept donations may have been set up by voting citizens but they have no control over where the money actually comes from. What's to stop corporations, super pacs, rich oil barons, foreign interests, etc... from getting in on the action, too?

Aren't they already in the action? This is their slippery slope.

How do you know who funded this effort?

Dude, don't quote satire sites to make an argument.

Wah, our nominee sucked as much as yours did.

They are "in on the action" to the extent that existing methods of contributing money to political causes allows them to be. This represents an entirely new super highway.

There was only one candidate who argued against big money in politics last election cycle. His name was Bernie Sanders and he was not taking any corporate PAC money. He campaigned on reversing Citizen's United which was the beginning of the end of American democracy as we know it.

Until conservatives come round to supporting those specific policies espoused by Bernie Sanders, all protests that this is unfair will ring hollow.

Not once have you addressed the data posted from bea.gov, bls.gov, and treasury.org which is where I get the official data and can put that data into contexts which you seem to ignore. What is happening is you have been indoctrinated so well that you buy into the establishment point of view and want a candidate who tells you what you want to hear and ignore the actual results generated.

What was cheered in 2016 was a change from the status quo and right now I am getting exactly the change I voted for, change that you don't want to address as you continue to ignore data and continue to focus on the past, rhetoric, and leftwing media radicalism.

4 million jobs or new taxpayers created, 1 million part time for economic reason employees now working full time, doubling of the GDP Obama left Trump, taxpayers getting to keep more of what they earn, FIT revenue growing every month vs. 2017 with the tax cuts. I realize this is context you want to ignore just like you ignore the record setting part time for economic reason employees, discouraged workers, and debt created by Obama none of which is right wing propaganda but rather actual verifiable data and FACTS

Bernie Sanders is a multi million dollar politician who ran on a message that is contrary to his own actions and wealth creation. Why is it he doing his best to destroy the very system that helped him generate his wealth and power? Have you truly researched the actions of Bernie Sanders and his wife? why does someone like this resonate with you?

Interesting tidbit on the site that is "holding" the million $ crowdfunding ...

May 2018 - "... Take Crowdpac, a Silicon Valley technology company that was founded in 2013 “to help more people participate in the political process” as voters, donors, and candidates. It promised to give candidates a platform to raise money through grassroots appeals and promoted itself as “non-partisan” and open to people of varying ideologies. It offers candidates who don’t have access to large PACs and corporate money a chance to bootstrap their efforts.

That was then. Now the site is banning Republican candidates as part of its stand against President Donald Trump. ..."

Joining facebook, google, twitter in their hate for Trump and his supporters. (sigh)

The site seems to matter more than the context or content. what in that site was false?

They are writing satire to the extreme right or left position of expected outcomes. It is SATIRE first and foremost not factually based.

Aren't they already in the action as it stands? How many times you think those dudes have told politicians that if they vote on something (say regulations or environmental policies) that they'll lose their donations?

lol

So what we have in this case is a group raising money to oppose a politician who has voted in a way they don't agree with. The amount of money is rather sickening, but so is the amount of money we generally spend in our political kabuki theater. People are freaking out here, but it appears to me that this is just politics as usual. A bit more out in the open this time though.
