Actually, an 'open' Senate hearing is just about the only venue in which regular citizens can object and have their voice heard by all members of the Senate. Making it public for all people watching on television and people that are given free access to the hearing room is a great example of the 'transparency' that Trump seems to demand. People don't seem to understand the gravity of what the consequences of this appointment may be. This appointment will directly affect millions of people, not just women. For the majority of people, it's not going to change their lives. But for women, this will affect not only their lives but the lives of many people directly connected to theirs. We're not talking merely a matter of 'choice'. This is about life and death, this is about changing the entire direction of human lives for their entire life. So why should this be 'disturbing or annoying' to anyone? The effects of this confirmation may ultimately make the U.S. Constitution to not be constitutional any longer.
