Ron DeSantis uses ‘monkey’ to describe Andrew Gillum agenda; Democrats brand it racist

Care to try that in coherent English?

And yet you are failing it.

Everyone owned slaves, your point?

I did not provide a link. If you are unable to follow the conversation stay out of it.

Actually...In 1860. The year coming up to the civil war....Democrats owned roughly 4 million slaves.

Republicans owned....000

Glad to help out.

Actually through progressive reeducation and revisionist history policies, most people do not "know".

The state of our education system is quite shameful as evidenced by many on this board.

At their core the parties are the same and can be distilled as Lincoln did in his time.

Democrats follow the basic policy of " You work, I eat." . This is fundamentally the same as today when Democrats seize upon the wealth of others and redistribute that wealth.

Republican polices are much the same as well.

As Lincoln put it as early as 1847, “each person is naturally entitled to do as he pleases with himself and the fruits of his labor.”

Or, as Lincoln put it more colorfully: “I always thought the man that made the corn should eat the corn.”

This whole racism thing today evolved when Democrats lost their hold on slavery when republicans stopped their theft of labor. They just invented another scheme to use racism to buy votes...even illegal votes. Any means necessary and all that.
WTF? Do you have a relevant point or you too feel better by injecting your drivel into the conversation?

Please do not delude yourself, you did not, but the ignorance you brought is noted.

It was a pretty direct and sourced refutation of your statements. I will not fault you for not being able to accurately or coherently respond.

Have a nice day.

Not even close, as you still have no clue about what was the point of my statement.

Says the guy who can not read in context.

You have a nice one too.

You: Everyone owned slaves.

Me: No they did not. While this is a nice cloud of rhetoric, This is simply not the case.

It is not a terribly complex issue.

Feel free to explain how exactly "Everyone" owned slaves.

You are quite correct that there is a significant basic difference between the "Democrats" and the "Republicans".

The Democrats (as you said) work on the basic philosophy of "You work, I eat." while the Republicans work on the basic philosophy of "I eat, you work.".

As you can see the two philosophies are the exact opposite of each other.

That's pretty funny.

Now that's an interesting statistic.

Here is a LINK to the actual numbers (from the 1860 census).

Would you please identify the actual political party membership of the people who did own the slaves.

If you look ONLY at the states where slavery was legal, then around 4.9% of the people owned slaves, around 19.9% the family units owned slaves, and around 24.9% of the households owned slaves.

So far your contention that not a single slave was owned by a person who was a "Republican" is not supported.

You might want to do a bit of reading concerning Robert Jefferson Breckinridge, William Hugh Smith, James L. Alcorn, William Woods Holden, William Gannaway Brownlow, and Ulysses S. Grant.

But also true.
Meh, depends how you see it. I don't think Elizabeth Warren is trying to get rich or have anyone work for her in the sense you are explaining. I seriously doubt guys like Ron Paul are looking to make tens of millions by supporting big oil companies. I think there is a subsection of politicians in either party that aren't looking to get rich or have anyone work while they get rich. It's just that they are heavily outnumbered by those that do.

When I stated the same. I meant in reference to each individual party as it relates to itself over time. Methods change but the core principles remained. Not to each other. The core principles are clearly opposite as the robber and the robbed.

Thank you for catching that.

Isn't it interesting how things change, now it's the Republicans who have been using the racist Southern Strategy for over 1/2 century, gathering the racists under one banner.

Lets hear a racist statement from Nixon for the fabled southern strategy?

Any one will do.

Also democrat George Wallace won those votes....

Here is Keith Ellison claiming George Wallace was a Republican.

Willful lie or just ignorance?

I would hope for simple ignorance as that is a less malevolent excuse for spreading disinformation.

The exception proves (in the original sense) the rule.

Stick "most major contributors to" in front of "the Republicans" and "the Democrats" and the rule becomes

Most major contributors to the Democrats (as you said) work on the basic philosophy of "You work, I eat." while most major contributors to the Republicans work on the basic philosophy of "I eat, you work.".

which, I submit is of sufficiently general application to be used as a basis for planning.

Robert Jefferson Breckinridge - Not a republican
William Hugh Smith-Democrat
James L. Alcorn - Not a Republican until 1867
William Woods Holden - Democrat
William Gannaway Brownlow - Not a slave trader.
Ulysses S. Grant. - Inherited a slave on his wifes side and was a democrat at the time.
"Prior to the Civil War Grant lived with his wife Julia and their four children in St. Louis, Missouri, at his father-in-law’s White Haven plantation estate from 1854 until 1859. At some point during this experience Grant obtained a slave named William Jones. The sole document we have confirming Grant’s ownership of Jones is a manumission paper freeing Jones on March 29, 1859, written in Grant’s own hand:"

In 1860, No Republicans owned slaves. All four million were owned by Democrats.
