President Trump nixed issuing a statement that praised the heroism and life of Sen. John McCain, telling senior aides he preferred to issue a tweet before posting one Saturday night that did not include any kind words for the late Arizona Republican.

Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Chief of Staff John F. Kelly and other White House aides advocated for an official statement that gave the decorated Vietnam War POW plaudits for his military and Senate service and called him a “hero,” according to current and former White House aides, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive internal deliberations.The original statement was drafted before McCain died Saturday, and Sanders and others edited a final version this weekend that was ready for the president, the aides said.

But Trump told aides he wanted to post a brief tweet instead, and the statement praising McCain’s life was not released.

I dont expect decorum from Donald J Trump. I expect results. I could careless how he gets those results. Decorum is an extra.

I don't buy it. You care about decorum. What would you say if a Democratic politician called Republican lawmakers white trash hicks whose low intelligence is the product of generations of inbreeding?

They already say that, and have been for sometime. Why do you think Trump was elected, for his eloquent speech's? Decorum Pfft. Thats been a pipe dream since the country was founded.

Obviously you dont get out much or live in very cloistered circles. Decorum died a long time ago, apparently a few people didnt get the memo.

I seemed to have missed the results that are positive for the country...

An empty agreement with NK?

alienating our allies and embracing a thug in Russia?

Threatening major trade wars for narrow tweeked trade agreements?

How does insulting a service man's sacrifice serve any result?

Most the results he takes credit for are the result of others and have been trending positive for months before his election.

The biggest result he can truly lay claim to is an even more divided country, and one could argue he is just continuing a trend... :peace

Obviously you don't think the leader of the Free World should be above petty tabloid antics. Point to the last occupant of the Oval Office as crass, petty, boastful, habitual lair, and I do mean lies when truth would be more to the point, or as big a bully to our allies or as big a suck-up to our rivals... :peace

My taxes are lower, my regulations are less, and I got at least supreme court nominees who dont use the constitution as toilet paper. If am lucky I might get a real wall on the southern border. As far as I am concerned he has done better than I could have possibly expected. I am ecstatic with the job he has done. Hell its all gravy as far as I am concerned. That fact he just pisses in the lefts cheerios everyday is grade triple a butter. I love it. He is the polar opposite of Obama and I love it.

Your correct, I just want somebody that fights, however imperfect they are. None of the candidates of 2016 have proven themselves as indefatigable as Trump has. They would have cried uncle by now.

You are not on the side of angles that much is clear. I can point back all through our countries history were one party or both were not angels of any sort.

I dont care. They didnt have to be run out. They could have stood their ground. They didnt so they got their tails handed to them. They encouraged more of that horse**** by NOT standing up for themselves. When the bully comes around, one should stand their ground win lose or draw.

I think you have trump confused with McCain.

McCain was in far more real fights than the golden child in the White House ever was.

Talking tough and being tough are two different things.
