Sanctions are penalties that are placed on countries that do business with the country on which the sanctions are placed.
Would you like to try that one again - so that it doesn't read as "Sanctions are sanctions placed on the country they are placed on."
.... which is what he is talking about doing...
But doesn't appear to actually be doing.
This has long been a point of contention with the morons in Turkey.
Actually it's been a point of contention with the "morons" in every country in the world.
The chief rival to NATO projection of force is China and Russia, and the security of NATO gear is paramount.
The first half is half correct. NATO isn't doing any "force projection" in the Orient and the Chinese aren't doing any in Europe.
The second half is laughable.
The US defence and defence production sectors are so porous that it's laughable.
Quite frankly, I wouldn't even sanction them, I would kick their asses out of NATO. Screw their noise.
Quite right. Make the Turks think that the Americans are their enemies and are trying to stir up the NATO countries against them and the last thing that they will do is start looking for other strategic partners.
For many and obvious reasons, Turkey will be unable to purchase US airplanes after this since, and it should have been clear to the stupid Turkish military, US airpower is designed around the the expectation that it will face Russian countermeasures, ...
Quite right. Of course, the major flaw in that reasoning is that the US defence and defence production industries really don't know what the Russian countermeasures actually are or what they can actually do.
... and while the US is already well versed in the S-400, ...
Absolutely, the USAF has faced the (fully operational Russian domestic version of the ) S-400 under actual combat conditions.
...they leave themselves open to Russian getting valuable intel on the F-35.
As if the Russians didn't already have a damn good idea what the sales brochures say that the F-35 is capable of (along with what the F-35 is actually capable of).
Not to mention the fact that should we ever find ourselves in a war with Russia, Turkey would render itself useless as it would lose its part supplier.
I think that it's probably a good idea not to mention that you want to base your plans on something that has (roughly) a 0.00001% chance of happening - unless, of course, the US starts it.
