John fought the good fight. Looks like he's going to go ahead and try to enjoy the rest of what he has left. I wish him and his family well.

John McCain discontinuing treatment for brain cancer, family says

Sen. John McCain, who was diagnosed with brain cancer last year, has made the decision to discontinue medical treatment, his family said in a statement on Friday.

Although McCain's colleagues had braced for the worst following his cancer prognosis a year ago, Friday's announcement left them shaken. It effectively closes a tumultuous Washington career that included two unsuccessful presidential runs and saw McCain emerge as a singular political figure, an icon of the Senate and latterly as a vehement critic of President Donald Trump.​

This is truly sad. I pray for his family and that he has peace. This is an awful disease and he is a hero, deserving our respect. One of the few real Republicans with honor
 
Never liked McCain as a politician but I respect his service and dedication and demonstrated integrity. May he find peace and be spared suffering.

Very sad. He is a true patriot. I wish him peace and relief from his suffering.
 
I hope he has some decent days left to enjoy with his family before the end. I'm sure they've all come to terms with the fact his end is near, but that doesn't make it any easier. He gave it a good fight. :thumbs: to you John.
 
I’ll lament the death of a fine patriot whom I often as a Senate intern had the honor of speaking with. He’s a fine American who sacrificed more for this country than most public servants today combined. I wish him a peaceful passing.
