Paul Manofort found guilty of 8 counts of Fraud

No, Benghazi wasn't a waste of time or money. Their names were Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Ty Woods, and Chris Dougherty.

And Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice are lying McLiars.

Right so the deaths of 4 is investigated, while the reason for the Iraq invasion is ignored (all based on lies) Which caused untold more deaths of Iraqi's and to a much lesser degree American soldiers

BOOM goes the dynamite!

Calm down now Topcat.

Remember, by Friday, this will be yet another forgotten news cycle.

Spend your exuberance wisely. There will be many more Trump scandals and news cycles coming and we don't want you to fizzle out. LOL

Trump will pardon him, so it was essentially a waste of time. Any one of Trump's cronnies that avoids a state l vel crime will walk away scot-free

Mistrial on 10 counts. Meaning the prosecution could try him again on those 10. Plus Manafort already has another trial aside from these that is to come soon.

A jury found Paul Manafort guilty on eight of 18 counts against him. Those eight counts carry a maximum sentence of 80 years.

The judge has not set a sentencing date yet.

Here's the breakdown of the counts:

  1. Count 1: Tax Fraud — Subscribing to false US individual income tax returns in 2010 (3 year maximum sentence)
  2. Count 2: Tax Fraud — Subscribing to false US individual income tax returns in 2011 (3 year max sentence)
  3. Count 3: Tax Fraud - Subscribing to false US individual income tax returns in 2012 (3 year maximum sentence)
  4. Count 4: Tax Fraud — Subscribing to false US individual income tax returns in 2013 (3 year maximum sentence)
  5. Count 5: Tax Fraud — Subscribing to false US individual income tax returns in 2014 (3 year maximum sentence)
  6. Count 12: Hiding Foreign Bank Accounts — Failure to File Reports of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts in 2012 (5 year maximum sentence)
  7. Count 25: Bank Fraud — $3.4 million Citizens Bank loan (30 year maximum sentence)
  8. Count 27: Bank Fraud — $1 million Bank of California loan (30 year maximum sentence)

Note: The count numbers are drawn from indictment, which is why the numbering seems off

A mistrial was declared on the remaining 10 counts: Three hiding foreign bank accounts and seven bank fraud or bank fraud conspiracy.

I will point out that the attempts at witness tampering will be considered when it comes to handing out the sentence.

Not really. Had there been to a special counsel to scrutinize every member of the Obama team, I'm guessing the same thing would have happened.

Well of course you'd be "guessing" because you have not facts to do anything else.

Manafort can be retried on the 10 counts that were considered mistrial. And Manafort already has a second trial coming up. Manafort isn't going anywhere.

I missed Trump's comments. I know they will be repeated, but I wanted to hear them live in their entirety.

Apparently, Rudy Giuliani is mistaken. Truth is still truth

America is a different country now, and Trump is not Nixon.

He's worse than Nixon. And Nixon was more intelligent and educated.

What's to spin? What Manafort has been convicted of has nothing to do with Trump.

Show me who your associates are ("he's a good person") and I will show you who you are.

uhhh huh...

Protective custody (sequestration from the general facility population for safety reasons) does not necessarily imply "solitary" hard-time confinement.

Manafort was not confined to a solitary cell. He had his own bathroom and shower facility, a workroom, his personal phone for 12 hrs a day, and his personal laptop.

That's my point. But the right was referring to it as "solitary." They felt it was so unjust!

From Noto bene:
There was no call for the way Manafort was treated by Mueller (the terrifying pre-dawn raid) and holding him in solitary the way he was.

Mueller was tasked with investigating Russia collusion.

Yes. This thread isn't about Mueller. This is about Manafort's trial. This thread has absolutely nothing to do with Mueller's investigation.

Mueller was tasked with investigating Russia collusion.

And any other crimes that come up as a result of that investigation. It's not Mueller's fault that Trump surrounds himself with the "best" criminals. Trump's time in the barrel is coming...and soon.
