Gee, there were an awful lot of criminals in Trump's election campaign. Does anybody have a theory for what the common denominator was?
"As a legal matter, this is a complete and total defeat for Manafort. He will get the same sentence that he would have received if he was convicted on all 18 counts.
The number of counts of conviction doesn’t impact federal sentencing."

Five counts of Tax Fraud. Two counts of bank fraud. One count of failing to report foreign account.
You mean members of the Trump election campaign who also happened to be criminals.
Democracy selects for the most corrupt to get to the top.
Yea because that asshole only has the best people. You mean members of the Trump election campaign who also happened to be criminals and committed their crimes previous to the 2016 campaign.
Not really. Had there been to a special counsel to scrutinize every member of the Obama team, I'm guessing the same thing would have happened.Uh huh. If only there was a common thread that linked all of them. Manafort, Gates, Cohen, Flynn, Stone (probably next). Four criminals in one campaign seems to defy the laws of odds, wouldn't you say?

Scum bag low lives getting together to screw the nation for their own gain and we have to add that it was made possible by the low intellect morons who fell and are still swallowing their crap.Gee, there were an awful lot of criminals in Trump's election campaign. Really? And you base that on what other than your wet dream? Not really. Had there been to a special counsel to scrutinize every member of the Obama team, I'm guessing the same thing would have happened.
Sorry you don't read the news.Objection: assumes facts not in evidence.

Classic :lamo:lamoHmmm. Since nobody on Obama's campaign appeared to break any laws,
Here's the Times article on the subject.:2wave:
Paul Manafort Convicted in Fraud Trial
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign chairman, was convicted on Tuesday in his financial fraud trial, bringing a dramatic end to a politically charged case that riveted the capital.
The verdict was a victory for the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, whose prosecutors built a case that Mr. Manafort hid millions of dollars in foreign accounts to evade taxes and lied to banks repeatedly to obtain $20 million in loans.
Mr. Manafort was convicted of five counts of tax fraud, two counts of bank fraud and one count of failure to disclose a foreign bank account. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on 10 of the 18 counts and the judge declared a mistrial on those charges.
The trial did not touch directly on Mr. Mueller’s inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election or on whether Mr. Trump has sought to obstruct the investigation. But it was the first test of the special counsel’s ability to prosecute a case in a federal courtroom amid intense criticism from the president and his allies that the inquiry is a biased and unjustified witch hunt.

There are lots of names, Penny Pritzker is one, that likely would have been convicted of something like tax fraud if there were a "Mueller" trying to dig up dirt on them. Are you really this naïve?Sorry you cannot demonstrate any actual equivalency to Trump's cronies on the Obama team.
But, hey, imagination games are fun!
