Approximately two dozen white nationalists rallied in the nation's capital on Sunday, one year after clashes in Charlottesville, Virginia, left one person dead and elevated racial tensions in America.

But they were vastly outnumbered by throngs of counterprotesters. The showing from "Unite the Right 2" participants fell far short of the hundreds that organizer Jason Kessler was expecting, based on his event permit application.​
 
How many racists were you expecting, exactly? What kind of ratio of racists to counter-protesters and Antifa did you envision?

Watching people suddenly applaud this because nobody showed up is hillarious. I hope you folks cheering for how few showed up are honest enough to admit that the reason they aren't showing up is the massive nationwide uproar on the left and the media drive to make sure these guys were caught one tape.

You know, that nationwide uproar that made thousands of people in Charlottesville march on the street. It wasn't because you've sat on the internet for a year arguing about whether one side had good people or not. It was because people have made neo-nazis scared to come out like they did Charlottesville.

I don't think anyone was expecting a C-ville part deux than if for no other reason that the DC police are very experienced in handling a great many type of protests and would be no where near as naive as C-ville's police force was last year. But still with the way this President dog whistles to the alt-right/white nationalist no one could be quite sure that wouldn't seriously devolve in some way nonetheless.
