President Donald Trump's parents-in-law have become US citizens in a private ceremony.

Viktor and Amalija Knavs, Melania Trump's Slovenian-born parents, took the oath of citizenship in New York on Thursday, their lawyer confirmed.

He said the pair had been living in the US on green cards sponsored by Mrs Trump.

Trump has opposed so-called chain migration, of which this is an example. Bunch of hypocrites from Trump & his wife on down.

I thought Melania was from Transylvania?.....Is Slovenia just the cover name they are using now?

Have you dug up any dirt on her parents yet, Jack?

Melania Trump is the current First Lady of the United States and wife of the 45th U.S. President Donald Trump. She was born in Novo Mesto, and grew up in Sevnica, in the Yugoslav republic of Slovenia. Wikipedia

Give us time....I heard her parents were very powerful figures with the VoiVod and quite practiced in the Dark Arts...Alex Jones told me that on his show

No, nor am I interested in doing so. Her parents are beside the point. Apparently Melania used her influence to fast track their becoming U.S. citizens. This is perhaps a unique case because she is the First Lady & has the power to pull a lot of strings to make things happen more quickly that with someone lacking that kind of influence. The fact that her husband opposes chain migration makes this an interesting story, as with Melania sticking up for Lebron James after his spat with The Donald. She is apparently a strong, confident woman who gets what she wants.

Ah, of course. Keep digging; I'm sure there is more. And this is, after all, very, very important information, another brick in the wall.

Does she have siblings? I'm eager to learn how terrible they are too because this will be proof of...well, something; I'm sure of it.

Wikipedia?......Not likely.....More likely she was born deep in the Carpathian Mtns....One of the many daughters of one of the mysterious Counts that reside in those regions

Besides her Transylvanian background there is the topic of "chain migration" which you are failing to address....I see NO reason why these people should be allowed in to America

I wonder if she sleeps in a coffin filled with Transylvanian dirt during the day?

Why am I supposed to address chain migration? I've never discussed it before, so why should I now? Help me understand please what I should be virtue-signaling, and I'll see if I can oblige.

Ah, abuse of power. Got it. She fast-tracked her parents.

Well rumors she is well trained in the Dark Arts, Necromancy and such...She is cautious of sun light and Crucifixes....Still much of her past is hidden, buried under the weight of time....The Daughters of Wallachia do not give there secrets easily

but Der Fuhrer said he was against these so called chain migrations ........... what up wit dat? ...........

Meet the Knavs

There is at least one picture in this article of her wearing a silver crucifix around her neck on a silver chain, so scratch the Dark Arts for the moment.

Her father was said to be a card-carrying member of the local Communist party & did quite well as a result, amassing a collection of Mercedes sedans & a Maserati. Not bad for simple folk who started life together in a 2-br apartment & he a traveling salesman for a Yugoslav auto company, which assume is the Yugo. (See next article)

"another brick on the wall"??? Could this be the border wall that will never ever be built?

First they attacked Barron and now her parents! SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, declined to comment. She said the first lady's parents "are not part of the administration and deserve privacy."

Viktor and Amalija Knavs have lived in the United States for at least 5 years!

Obamas children deserved privacy, Obamas extended family deserved privacy, but all Republicans did was attack. Now your feelings are hurt?

Clueless...... This thread has nothing to do with Obama. Please read the title again. Thank you!

But they don't deserve privacy. They have chosen to associate with Trump, so they're fair game. Stones are being unturned even as I type, and every juicy tidbit absolutely must be revealed through all media outlets. Sadly, we don't know yet about aunts and uncles and third cousins by marriage, but I am confident that all will be revealed. For the sake of the nation, you know.

The Yugo: The Rise and Fall of the Worst Car in History by Jason Vuic

The Yugo: The Rise and Fall of the Worst Car in History by Jason Vuic | Librarypoint

The Yugo was a small car made in the former nation of Yugoslavia that survives in the American consciousness as the ultimate automotive failure. Poorly engineered, ugly, and cheap, it survived much longer as a punch line for comedians than it did as a vehicle on the roads. The story of how this particular car became the most hated vehicle in the U.S. is a comedy of errors detailed in Jason Vuic’s book, The Yugo: The Rise and Fall of the Worst Car in History. A bewildering array of capitalist hucksters and impoverished communists desperate for revenue collaborated to create the Yugo, and what could have been a great international relations victory of the Cold War was ruined the moment consumers and auto critics actually got to drive it. Vuic examines the many failures of the Yugo venture and the people involved with a keen journalistic eye and a razor-sharp wit, making this a great read for anyone interested in automotive history or 1980s nostalgia.

I guess the demand was there if he made his dinars pushing these beasts.

The Yugoslav dinar (YUM) is obsolete. It was replaced by the currencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, and Slovenia (at par) when the country split up. The Yugoslavian Dinar is the currency in Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro, YU, YUG). The symbol for YUM can be written Din.
