Melania Trump's Slovenian parents become US citizens

Not sure, to be honest. I mean...they weren't citizens before, and they've been his in-laws since 2005. Suddenly he's the president But you gotta admit, the optics are beyond gross. Again, it probably wouldn't mean much if Trump hadn't displayed the attitude he has towards immigrants...hell, it might have been a feel good story. Sadly the immigration thing has been venues he's thrown his weight around in. The perception of this news is understandable, even if he didn't technically break the law. I know lots of folks who don't break the law and still deserve to be called assholes...

In light of that it would be interesting to know when exactly did Melania's parents apply for a family reunification visa. The waiting list for which I have heard often takes over a decade and Melania's parents, whom are retired now, didn't work in in industries that would allow them to migrate to the U.S. through a "merit-based" system. Also I remember that during the campaign there was a promise made that Melania would speak publicly to clear up the questions of what her own immigration status was and that to my knowledge has still yet to happen.

Honestly, it seems like something not worth getting stuck on. We don't need this story to know that Trump is garbage, and he'll never see any consequences for doing this. I think it's enough to say "Yup, he's still a dick", and move on. The only thing interesting about this story is the optics, and the supporters who will fail to acknowledge it.

You've addressed me as "dude" in this thread, so you'll understand, I hope, why I am now going to dismiss your description of my posts as stupid, wild rants.

Once again, I've never commented on chain migration in any post of any thread. But I will look forward to your providing the evidence that the Trumps and/or the in-laws skirted the system or broke any laws.
Dude is a gender less term where I come from. It doesn’t even have to refer to people. My cat is a dude. enough with the fake SJW outrage.

Nobody alleged breaking the law. Nobody attacked the parents’ character. What the **** thread are you reading? Are you really so incensed about being called “dude” that you invented an entire thread discussion?
