"The emails, given to Congress by the Justice Department, began on Jan. 12, 2016, when Steele sent Ohr a New Year's greeting. Steele brought up the case of Russian aluminum magnate Oleg Deripaska (referred to in various emails as both OD and OVD), who was at the time seeking a visa to attend an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in the United States. Years earlier, the U.S. revoked Deripaska's visa, reportedly on the basis of suspected involvement with Russian organized crime. Deripaska was close to Paul Manafort, the short-term Trump campaign chairman now on trial for financial crimes, and this year was sanctioned in the wake of Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.

"I heard from Adam WALDMAN [a Deripaska lawyer/lobbyist] yesterday that OD is applying for another official US visa ice [sic] APEC business at the end of February," Steele wrote in the Jan. 12 email. Steele said Deripaska was being "encouraged by the Agency guys who told Adam that the USG [United States Government] stance on [Deripaska] is softening." Steele concluded: "A positive development it seems."

Steele also asked Ohr when he might be coming to London, or somewhere in Europe, "as I would be keen to meet up here and talk business." Ohr replied warmly the same day and said he would likely travel to Europe, but not the U.K., at least twice in February.

Steele emailed again on Feb. 8 to alert Ohr that "our old friend OD apparently has been granted another official [emphasis in original] visa to come to the US later this month." Steele wrote, "As far as I'm concerned, this is good news all round although as before, it would be helpful if you could monitor it and let me know if any complications arise." Ohr replied that he knew about Deripaska's visa, and "to the extent I can I will keep an eye on the situation." Steele again asked to meet anytime Ohr was in the U.K. or Western Europe."

That is a small clip from a long series of email exchanges covering late 2015 through beyond the inauguration.

The Very interesting thing about this is not really contained in this article, but connected to the communications within this argument.

During the congressional hearings, the lawyer for Deripaska was asked if Steele had been employed by Deripaska during that period of time and the lawyer claimed attorney-client privilege. Well, that is a "Yes" then? Hmmmmm....

When Director Wray was asked the same question he answered that he couldn't answer that in the public setting, but there may be more to say in a closed door session. Hmmmmmmm....

And Mueller knows all of this, and keeps up the charade.

I hope when this is over, he gets is own Special Fisherman assigned to investigate him - and he pays his own legal bills, not the taxpayers.

It should also be pointed out that at the same time all that is happening Steele is working for Glenn Simpson to build Hillary's commissioned Russian dossier AND Natalia Veselnitskaya had hired Simpson to help lobby for a repeal of the Magnitsky Act.

I mean seriously, if the Trump Tower meeting is smoke signaling potential Russian collusion then Fusion GPS is a freaking forest fire.

This gives it away:

So Nunes leaked the emails obtained from the Justice Dept.

We already know, from hidden cameras at a private fundraising, that Nunes is building a setup to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

A few comments...

1. Bruce Ohr, his wife, Simpson and Steele have many connections with each other. Ohr and Steele, especially. Those two were communicating...according to the information given to Congress...throughout 2017, as well as before the election. Steele was making constant efforts to establishing a connection to Mueller through Ohr. It's not certain he succeeded.

2. Adam Waldman, the guy who was working for Deripaska, had extensive communications with Sen. Warner, the ranking Dem on the Senate Intelligence Committee. Warner was trying to get Waldman to set up a meeting with Steele and Warner.

3. Deripaska was supplying intelligence info to Brennan in 2016 (connected to the Harper issue) and had past connections to Mueller and McCabe.

Quite the snarled snake pit, if you ask me.

But what concerns me right now is this: After resisting giving documents and information to anyone in Congress for so long, who decided to give this Ohr/Steele information up now...and why did they give it to Senate Intelligence and not to House Intelligence? Also...who is leaking this information to the media? Someone from Senate Intelligence? Or someone from DOJ/FBI? And why?

LOL. Look at who suddenly gives a **** about leaks! :lamo

No, these were cleared for release. You swing and miss.

Cleared for release, by whom? How many guesses do I get?

This doesn't appear to be a leak as the documents carry the marks of documents that have been scrubbed for public consumption.

It's still a leak. These documents haven't been officially released to the public by Senate Intel...only to select journalists who cite anonymous sources.

Well, since you guessed "Devin Nunes" for a Senate release I'm guessing you will need a lot.
