Trump is in full campaign mode, having held rallies in Florida and Ohio over the last week. Trump has been to Texas five times since he became President, but has not held a big rally like those he’s done in the last week in other places. In May he spoke at a Republican fundraiser that was closed to the media and before that he spoke to the National Rifle Association’s annual conference in Dallas where he endorsed Cruz’s re-election.

Cruz is facing a tougher re-election campaign than many first expected. Polls from the last week have shown Cruz holding onto a single-digit lead over O’Rourke, a congressman from El Paso who has set records for Democrats fundraising in Texas.
Now polling for the past months from April forwards show a closer race than Cruz's win in 2012 - he then won by 15 pts. The 2006 election was won by another Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison by 25 pts.
Is there trouble in Republican Senate races.

I really don't think Ted Cruz will lose , but fi he does, I'll laugh my butt off.

after Trump went after his wife? i don't know about Trump cultists, but that would be sort of a "**** you forever" moment for me.

If the polling drops below 5, Cruz will be like a doggie begging Trump to campaign for him.
I get the feeling, rightly or wrongly that Cruz has pissed off a large number of Republicans / Independents. The man is utterly shameless.

Up North of the 49th, those types of repeated attacks would in all probability kill a Candidate.

My brother is still sure that Cruz will be fine.

I am still not convinced.

Heck, Cruz would place his wife in a dairy cow's tie stall for Trump to enjoy if it could get him a few votes.

here in the states, it's strange days, indeed.

probably true, but i would never talk to that prick again, much less campaign with him and stand there looking all solemn while he spews word salads.

Cruz has no spine, and no morals

A perfect candidate for the modern Republican party

Cruz should be ashamed that he has no shame.

<snicker> You're not a politician! That would be a "forever and ever " moment for me too, but then again, I'm not a pol either, and so expediency isn't a necessary (or unnecessary) evil for me either!

True but when I go back in time to McCain's run against Bush, the libelous crap about his adopted daughter being his from a relationship with a prostitute.
Or the rumor attribuited to HRC's campaign that Pbama was not born in the US.
That just does not fly up Norht, and would cost the candiadite

Our last Federal election, could have been a Con or Lib minority Govt. Harper went negative, turned Canadians off & Liberals won in a landslide.
And I did not vote for either in my Riding. I had a former PC MP who resigned as an MP from the Federal Party and sat as an Independent, based solely on principle. Voted for him, even though I knew his chances of winning were slim to none. If he had stayed in the Caucus he would still be in Parliament

stuff like that used to cost candidates here, too. we have a lot more propaganda pretending to be news now.

If Cruz had a principled bone in his body, he'd have had it removed long ago.

Sadly it will IMHO only get much worse. We ain't seen nothing yet

man, i sure hope that's not the case.

Mueller is required by law to provide a full unredacted report for the Deputy AG. Do you think Congress should have access to an redacted version or a redacted version?
Unredacted would not include any info that would/could compromise US Security methods or Intel?
Should that unredacted report be made public?

i support releasing the whole thing. whether that will happen or not is anyone's guess.

Have to say this, even though we agree. DP is debate, but IMHO it is a great place to have a reasonable conversation.
And yes I agree warts and all. The people have the right to know. But Intel sources cannot be compromised or identified.
