PRESS RELEASE • WEDNESDAY, JULY 25TH 2018
World Vision Statement Regarding our Past Engagement with Islamic Relief Agency in Sudan
SHARE TWEET
World Vision’s work in Sudan is focused on improving the lives of the most vulnerable children. In 2017, our programs reached approximately 674,000 vulnerable people, 70 percent of these were children and women. The work sub-granted to IRA in 2014 was a very small percentage of our significant program expenditures in Sudan, less than 1% of our total at that time.

In March 2014, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) approved World Vision’s grant proposal that clearly listed Islamic Relief Agency (IRA) as a proposed sub-grantee. At the time of selection, there was no indication that IRA had any possible ties to an alleged terrorist-supporting organisation.

World Vision took its compliance obligations seriously, but respectfully asked permission to pay IRA money owing for legitimate humanitarian work (salaries, humanitarian aid and supplies for beneficiaries, travel etc.) already incurred. World Vision explained failure to do so could have exposed it to potential legal liability for breach of contract, resulted in the very real chance of Government expulsion from Sudan and as a consequence, the loss of a lifeline for tens of thousands of children and their families.

The reason hey haven't been prosecuted. It seems World Vision was tasked with vetting organizations it sub-granted to. At the time IRA passed the government test, it still does to this today. Sucks for WV. They're a great organization that gives more to the world on a daily basis than threads like these. If you'd like to see their work, please watch the following video:

I am sure he could care less about the work WV does in the Third World. Look at the title of the thread, and a few other posts started by the same OP. Obama Derangement Syndrome, still, and the guy has out of office 18 months.

Not surprising. Hell, the guy started his political career with 2 terrorists... gives the largest state sponsor of terrorism 150 Billion... has terrorists (not heads of state) visit his White House.

USAID started under JFK and is funded by congress. If I recall back in 2014 the majority in congress was the GOP.

Not to put too fine a point on this, but wasn't the Obama Administration the one that that freed up the Iranian assets and then laundered all that cash on pallets to bribe the hostage takers?

Seems like this qualifies as the same activity in the same category. Only, more so...

I don't know why, but I'm reminded of Stormy Daniel's husband who said that she had committed adultery and that he had proof.

Um... Well... How difficult was it to find this proof?

zimmer, this is shocking how this dude funneled tax dollars to terrorists who are out to destroy America. The idea is to seek out these organizations and put them down, not building them up to power.
I have to be kidding myself thinking there is all to know about barack " Dolemite " obama. What surprises me there are knuckleheads out there who think this dude is a good guy. More like a "Chucky doll" in disguise.Makes me wonder part of the proceeds from obamascare is financing these organizations as well. You never know with this dude.
Glad you're keeping us informed.

Fence straddler I see. You have a "undisclosed " which meaning confusion and not knowing where you stand or support. Come out of the closet and show support. You know very well this dude obama financially support his fellow muslims against us and it's not paranoia is being vigilant.

Oh boy, cash on pallets reminds me of Paul Bremer as head of the CPA back in the heady and early days of our invasion of Iraq. Poor Paul, rolling around wheelbarrows full of C-notes shrink-wrapped. Those were the glory days!

Comparing the actions of the two worst Presidents in the history of the Republic to justify the actions of either or both seems like a fool's errand.

Anytime our government starts paying money to crooks in cash it should make us all a tad suspicious of their motives, alliances and goals.
