Stormy Daniels’ strip club act bookends Trump’s court reveal

Charges dropped?

America moves on to wait for Avenatti to tweet "Basta" again.

Indeed, the charges have now been dropped.

Sounds like rogue pro-Trump cops with too much time on their hands.

On Thursday afternoon, Avenatti announced on Twitter that prosecutors had dropped the charges against his client. Prosecutors said they did not have probable cause to pursue the case, according to court documents posted by the attorney.

Edit:

I'd be interested to know whether they regularly send undercover cops to these clubs to see if they can "sting" a dancer for rubbing her breasts on their faces, or whether they were there specifically because Daniels would be there.

One seems much more likely than the other in light of the prosecutors' statement about why the charges were dismissed: Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said in a statement to The Post that prosecutors looked at the charges against Daniels and “I’ve determined that these crimes were not committed, based on the fact that Ms. Clifford has not made regular appearances at this establishment as required under the law. We’ll do the same inquiry for the other defendants involved, as well. My office was not involved in this sting operation, so any additional questions about it must be directed to the Columbus Division of Police. The charges have been dismissed.”

(And no, don't try to tell me the undercover cops didn't know what the specific law they were there to investigate violations of requires).

I’ve given up on this becoming anything for two reasons.

One, Trump supporters do not care about this including so called “family values” religious and social conservatives. Two, those that do not like Trump are going to have a hard time using this to “take him down” even if they obtain control of the next 116th Congress.

Fun while it lasted, spoke volumes about Trump, did not end up near enough to damage him.

(It is sad, but true... and that speaks volumes about our current political climate.)

It could have long term corrosion on Trump outside his core base.
